JEDI PADAWAN TOURNAMENT, ROUND 1
[member="Corrah Navo"] vs [member="Dominic Shiro"]

Kian Karr watched as the last few spectators made their way into the arena. They were aboard The Sha Koon, the mobile base of the Jedi Shadows. Kian had specifically chosen this location as the Sha Koon had only recently been constructed for use by the Jedi to replace the loss of the Gnost Dural following the fall of the Republic. What better way to get the Jedi and service members on board together and socializing than a little friendly competition. Today's event was one of the first matches of the Jedi Padawan Tournament being sponsored by the Jedi Academy Network and Kian was pleased to be able to moderate it. He had not had any interaction, as far as he was aware, with either of the two padawans who would be competing and he hoped that this event would serve, not only as a good training opportunity, but an all around enjoyable distraction from the difficulties of Jedi training.
"Thank you all for coming." Kian began, his voice amplified loudly by a microphone attached to his anti-ox mask. "Today marks one of the first matches of Round 1 of the Jedi Padawan Tournament." Kian had to pause at this point to allow the crowd to get out their enthusiasm. Chuckling to himself, he was pleased to see just how excited everyone was for the tournament to begin.
"Today's match pits Jedi Padawan Kafh-en-ma-nofre against Jedi Padawan Andy Khor." As Kian said these words, the doors behind him opened and the two padawan would be escorted to the middle of the room by a Jedi Training Droid.
"Remember," Kian said once the young men were near him, "That you are judged not simply on whether you win or lose, but how you do so." Kian raised a clawed talon as he said this and his eyes fell across the crowd. "Victory at any cost is the behavior a Sith might engage in....but not Jedi. Where the journey ends is far less important than how you get there." Kian was purposely being cryptic and, luckily for him, his anti-ox mask hid his broad smile beneath. One of the benefits of being a Kel Dor was that one could be humorous but maintain the illusion of seriousness.
"Have fun," Kian said bowing to the two Jedi and walking back to the edge of the arena to watch.
"Begin when you are ready, make sure your lightsabers are set to their lowest setting, and may the force be with you both!"
The arena was a large circular room. Around the circle were protrusions that extended out slightly into the middle, like ribs, that helped to support the large domed roof. The center of the room was slightly raised, making the floor uneven and slightly hilled so that the padawans would need to be cautious of their footing as they moved throughout the arena. Other than this, it was a fairly standard and simply designed training room.
