Description:
THE HIDDEN PRAXEUM OF JEDHA

In truth the first level has intentionally been kept a ruin, untouched when it was discovered by the Order of Gray Jedi of Jedha. It is an ancient light side temple that once was created by a sect of wayward Jedi unaffiliated with the Jedi Order of the Old Republic (Pictured Below Right). Its large chambers house destroyed domes, statues, columns, grand subterranean vistas, and bones. If one finds one of the many hidden repulsorlift doors, they can then travel down into the true Praxeum itself. Travelling 10km beneath the surface of Jedha one will come across the vast network of chambers, antechambers, quarters, and great domed spaces of the Jedha Praxeum. Within it, there is an subterranean city lit by artificial lighting and consisting of pre-fabricated housing apartments, a Gray Jedi Sanctum, barracks, goods depots, kyber crystal mining facility, and artificial heating food incubation chambers. All of which was gradually accumulated

From this central network, there are several access tunnels which travel kilometers away and then lead back to the surface as last resort escape routes. Some of these escape routes even lead to subterranean starship holds that use natural cave gaps as launch holes. These starship holds however, cannot hold anything bigger than a personal starfighter or a smuggler vessel (like a YT-1300f light freighter). Beyond this, there are several other networks of tunnels that lead to other areas of the southern hemisphere canyon gorge that cracks across Jedha's southern surface like a large scar. These tunnels are used for defences of the Praxeum allowing the defenders to assault the attackers before they reach the Praxeum proper (if the attackers manage to locate its true location). The Praxeum also houses an internal comms system, loud speaker system, and its own holonet (thanks to the dealings with select and privileged vagrants/scoundrels). In addition, the Praxeum has its own encrypted code comm system that it uses to communicate to the Gray Jedi that are sent on peace keeping missions or covert missions across the galaxy.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Statue of the Silent Vigil

A towering image of an ancient force user warrior, once belonging to a now extinct ancient secret sect of the Jedi Order; a lost order of early Gray Jedi. The statue monolith is known by the Gray Jedi of the Jedha Praxeum as the Silent Vigil and is often used by the Jedi as a marker to find the entrance to the Praxeum.
Gate of the Twin Wardens

As mentioned above the first level of the Praxeum is a ruin of a much older and ancient lost Gray Jedi temple. However, when one finds the many hidden repulsorlift shafts and decends deep into the crust of Jedha they reach the actual Jedha Praxeum. What awaits you there is the large Gate of the Twin Wardens. This is the main gate into the main network of chambers of the Praxeum, it is guarded by two large monolithic statues of two Gray Jedi as well as a cohort of Gray Jedi and Praxeum Militia. The gate has a dedicated miniature deflector shield which protects the gate doors from explosive weapons.
The Temple Complex of the Jedha Gray Jedi Order

This is the main temple complex that is used by the Gray Jedi of Jedha to practice, meditate, study, train, and learn. Pictured above is the main chamber that leads into various other tunnels and antechambers as well as private quarters and meditation chambers. Along with the main chamber there is a Grand Archives that houses sparse holo-records of Gray Jedi teachings and records.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
During the age of the Old Republic and the Jedi Order of old, there was a secret sect of Gray Jedi who in their self-imposed exile would come upon Jedha and merge with its local force cults to create the original Jedha Temple (which is the first ruined level of the Jedha Gray Jedi Praxeum). However, by the time of the rise of the Galactic Empire, the sect had long since vanished from Jedha, and was left to ruin. Being on the southern hemisphere of the desert moon it was largely untouched by the devastation of the Death Star's test on the Holy City of Jedha. During the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance and the Galactic Empire, the temple ruins were expanded by pirates and smugglers who created the first modern network of chambers and extended tunnels. But, by the time of the Great Gulag Plague even they would come to abandon their new constructions and the temple ruins.
Post-Gulag Plague, an order of wayward Jedi would rediscover the temple and the chambers of the smugglers. They would form the now still surviving secret Order of Jedha Gray Jedi. They would largely remain hidden for most of Post-Gulag Plague history, with only a few of their followers emerging from the Praxeum to fight for the Grand Republic in secret hiding their true identities. During the One Sith conquest of the Core however, they covertly opened their gates to let in thousands of refugees, and lost Jedi. During this period, to the present day with the rise of the First Order and Galactic Alliance, the Gray Jedi have expanded the network of chambers, antechambers, tunnels, side quarters, and domed spaces.
The Order itself has also expanded. It is protected by its Jedi Militant Chapter -Sisters of the Martyred Light, a chapter of an all female Gray Jedi Militant which are tasked with defending the Praxeum along side their Gray Jedi Brothers. Since re-opening, the Praxeum is home to refugees, wayward Jedi, lost souls looking for healing, exiles, and Jedha remnants...at least to those who know of its location.
[Note: The Order of Jedha Gray Jedi and the Sisters of the Martyred Light are factions to be added soon...]
