Description: Using the original JBK-14 vibroblade as a base, the JBK-14H switches our a number of internal components to use the blade’s energy in a different way. Instead of creating vibrations, the internal mechanisms creates a large amount of heat within the blade causing it to glow red hot (approximate temperature 500 degrees Celsius). Because of the large amount of energy needed for this creation of heat, the heat blade can only be used for about ten minutes continuously before requiring a recharge. Like the JBK-14 the blade is scalpel sharp, but must be honed continuously to keep this effect.
The heated blade rests as a separate unit inside the silvered handle which is coated in heat resistant material to prevent the heat from seeping into the rest of the weapon. The core components are further separated into the black of the hilt leaving the electronic components except the actual heating element behind additional heat barriers. Even then the silvered aspects of the handle remain very hot and can burn the user. This is kept from the user's skin by the textured grip, which is the only part of the weapon not extremely hot.
This is a weapon for specialists. It is not designed for combat, but for controlled environments. It can be used in combat, but the user risks burning themselves on the silvered parts of the handle. It is highly recommended protective gloves be worn during use. Because of the difficulty in safely dispersing the extreme heat, this weapon costs over twice as much as the original JBK-14 making it very cost prohibitive for little additional utilitarian use.
