Appearance
Tall and lean with a confident, streetwise demeanor, this man carries the air of someone who's seen—and survived—the worst of the galaxy. His short, raven-black hair is swept into a messy undercut, a signature style in the darker corners of Nar Shaddaa or the smuggler alleys of Ord Mantell. A sharp jawline and piercing blue eyes give him a striking look, often unreadable, often dangerous.
He wears a rugged brown coat bearing a worn insignia on the shoulder, possibly from a long-forgotten squadron or a custom syndicate patch. Beneath, his white shirt is unbuttoned just enough to suggest a casual swagger, sleeves rolled up to reveal full-sleeve tattoos etched across both arms in bold, intricate designs—tribal, mechanical, and possibly symbolic of past allegiances or personal philosophies.
A heavy utility belt rests around his hips, holstering a well-maintained blaster and various other tools of the trade. Tactical pants and knee-high combat boots complete the look—functional, durable, and ready for a chase through city shadows or a brawl in a seedy cantina. Everything about him speaks of someone who lives on the edge. A smuggler, mercenary, or something else entirely. A shadow with a cause—or a price.
Backstory
Jax grew up on Corellia, right in the thick of its industrial sprawl, surrounded by scrapyards, spaceports, and back-alley deals that were just part of the landscape. His parents didn't make it past his early years; what happened wasn't dramatic, just the kind of everyday loss that's too common in places like that. He ended up in the care of a swoop gang who didn't care much for raising kids but found use for a small set of hands. It wasn't love but it was survival, and Jax learned fast.
By the time he was a teenager, he was flying cargo runs no one else wanted. Illegal spice, stolen tech, weapons. He ran whatever paid. He didn't ask questions, didn't need to. He figured out how to fly through tight spots and talk his way out of worse ones. And if that didn't work, he wasn't bad in a fight either. He built up a name for himself in the kind of circles that know who to call when they need something moved without it being noticed.
Jax doesn't go in for loyalty or long-term plans. He keeps things light, including jokes, flings, jobs. He always has an exit ready. He plays the part of someone who's only in it for the credits, and most of the time, that's true. But every now and then, he does something that doesn't quite fit the story and does something decent. He doesn't like to talk about those moments, and if you bring them up, he'll shrug them off or change the subject.
He's not a hero. But he's not a lost cause either.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Ace Pilot: Jax knows how to handle a ship when things go sideways. Years of high risk runs have made him quick on the yoke and fearless in a chase.
Silver Tongue: He’s got a knack for fast talk, bluffing, and charming his way through locked doors and tighter situations. It's not always reliable, just often enough.
Street Smart: Jax knows how to read people and situations, especially in places polite society avoids. Scams, setups, and double crosses rarely catch him off guard.
Loyal (When It Counts): He’d never admit it, but when someone earns his trust, Jax has been known to risk everything for them. Unfortunately, even if it makes no sense.
Commitment Issues: Whether it’s relationships or long-term plans, Jax keeps one foot out the door. He struggles to stick around when things get serious.
Moral Whiplash: He says he’s only in it for the credits, but sometimes his conscience gets the better of him, usually when it causes the most trouble.
Distrustful: Trust is a luxury he doesn’t often give. It keeps him alive, but it also keeps him isolated, even from people trying to help.
Haunted by His Past: There are parts of his life he won’t talk about. But they still shape his choices, whether he wants them to or not.
