STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
(+) Persistent: Jarren knows the true value of perseverance and hard work, and is hard-headed enough to fully dedicate himself to every activity he participates in, striving for constant betterment. He overcame his natural impediments with his iron will and can even be somewhat of a masochist, rejoycing in the face of adversity.
(+) Cunning: Sly, witty, resourceful and scheming, Jarren has a quick, sharp mind and isn't afraid to use it. He likes to dwell in the shadows and revel in the ignorance and arrogance of his enemies.
(+) Knowledgeable: His high class upbringing means he received quite an education in multiple matters. He is a gentleman of knowledge and culture.
(-) Cold: Very structured and calculating, almost machiavellical in his way of not letting anything stand between him and his goals. Though not inherently evil or cruel, he can be quite insensitive a times and isn't afraid of showing it.
(-) Egomaniac: Though he mostly maintains a masquerade of shrewdness and silent humbleness, he is an egotistic bastard on the inside and can be prone to showcase it in moments of anger and stress.
(-) Fragile constitution: Unlike his father, Jarren lacks the physical strength and fortitude of a warrior. Though somewhat agile and dexterous, he was always feeble in terms of strength and had a delicate health.
SKILLS AND INTERESTS:
Public speaking: As a capable orator, Jarren knows how to give a speech and discuss about highly educated matters as well as more mundane.
Reading: A voracious reader, Jarren spends most of his time reading and likes to collect dusty old paper books. It may be old-fashioned, but it's an old hobby of his.
Shooting: Jarren is an adept shooter since his time in the academy. Not especially good but decent, and can hold his own with a blaster.
Fencing: One of his passions. He picked it up in the military academy back in Serenno and has since devoted himself to the study and practice of the fencing art. He has also taken some interest in the order's strange magicians, the so called Knights of Ren and their energy saber techniques, despite not getting along too much with their excentric religion.
Racing: His forbidden taste. Ever since childhood, he has been greatly interested in the world of pod racing, despite not being good enough to become a racer himself. He knows a thing or two about circuits and speeders and is an occasional spectator and gambler.
APPEARANCE:
A young man with a penetrating stare and an imposing gait who dons subtle and gentle facial expressions and a quick, half smeared scant smile impaired with a soft and grave voice, low and subtle yet still booming and firm. His dark chestnut hair falls down to his neck meeting his neatingly trimmed beard.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born as the eldest son and only male heir of Count Samaar Velos and his wife Laridda, young Jarren was the the heir of a long bloodline of soldiers, generals and politicians with considerable influence inside and outside their homeworld of Serenno, where they reigned as one of the ruling noble houses. Since his childhood, the boy began to exhibit great interest in military matters, product of his deep sense of awe and admiration towards his father, who was by the time a condecorated, almost retired war hero who had cast aside his prolific career to dedicate himself fully to his family, at the request of his wife.
Jarren grew up in the Velos estate like any other heir to one of Serenno's great houses, dedicated to a life of luxury coupled with arising responsibilites and high expectations that weighed heavily on his shoulders. He was trained and instructed as a soldier, strategist and politician just like his father, but always being the sickly, fragile boy he was, he fared very poorly in the physical aspects of his training and soon his instructors started worrying that the count's son may not be fit to take up the arms as a proper soldier. Yet he persevered and did not give up; he became accustomed to having to work hard as to overcome his pysical limitations and against all odds, he persisted in his training, seeking numerous ways to use his powerful mind as a cunning strategist. On passed the years and the child became an adolescent boy, eager to witness the heat of battle, until one day he convinced his father to return to his old ways and lead one last campaign alongside his prodigal son, at the behest of his mortified mother. From then on, though, everything went spiralling downwards.
It was a simple skirmish, or so they thought. Just a simple display of force to scare away some pirates that had been raiding the trade routes for some time now; they expected to get home soon with numerous tales of victory, but they were too boastful in their thirst for glory and the pirates quickly found ot about their intentions. A great fleet parted from Serenno on a cloudy afternoon, heading for the wild space, but only a handful of ships would return a few weeks later. After some days of patrolling around in search of their prey, finally the serennian fleet found their target, or rather, their target found them. The battle was short and bloody as the pirates ambushed the serennian military convoy from all sides, boarding their ships quickly, slaughtering everyone who stood on their path. They overtook the fleet's flagship and quickly seized the bridge from where count Velos was desperately trying to rally his forces. He barely saw it coming... Jarren escaped with the help of a group of his father's most loyal men in a small freighter as the battle raged on above them, returning to Serenno alongside the few survivors. It was a grim day of defeat for house Velos and the whole planet mourned...
Soon, Jarren's mother started blaming him for Samaar's death, unable to cope with his husband's so early departure. She ridiculed him as the bright future he envisioned only some time before vanished in front of him, leaving behind only a weak boy who couldn't fill his father's shoes. He lamented his stupidity and naiveity, resenting his poor condition being unable to cast a shadow over his father's inmense figure, but soon came to embrace his own nature, learning to stand proud and mighty with the strength of his mind and his own will rather than his pysical prowesses. He honed his skills and finished his studies and after some years the daring, enthusiastic little boy came to be the brooding, calculating and alluring man with a clear ambition on his mind, envisioning once again a future of glory. He decided to part ways with his family and homeworld and quickly set his way to the First Order, where with the help of her mother's influence, eagerly enthusiastic to get her son as far away as possible, he enlisted in the military as a starship navy captain ready to make his way into the upper echelons of hierarchy so as to honor his father's legacy, finally becoming what he envisioned he would be as a child: A great general, a man of victories and glory known through the galaxy for his exploits and deeds.
