Intent: Anti-force user armament
Manufacturer: MandalTech
Model: Blaster Rifle
Affiliation: Mandalorian
Modularity: Sonic portion can be replaced
Production: Limited

Description: With increasing hostilities between the Mandalorians and the Empire an increasing need has arisen for better armament to handle the Sith threat. Blasters generally can be deflected easily, however sonic rounds simply can go right around a saber. Sonic rounds can also be dealt with through the force. The intent is that throw combining the two one would be able to overwhelm a force users abilities. Essentially, the blaster rifle is a standard blaster rifle, below it is a sonic blaster (much in the same fashion that a grenade launcher would be mounted). It stutters sonic shots between bursts of blaster rounds. In essence, it is meant to confuse and overwhelm a force user much in the way varying blaster strength can overwhelm a dovin basel.

Classification: Blaster Rifle
Size: Handheld
Status: Military
Length: ~1 meter
Weight: 10 lbs
Ammunition Type: Power Cells - seperate for sonic and blaster
Ammunition Capacity: 75 blaster shots, 20 sonic shots
Range: Blaster effective at 100 meters. Sonic is optimal at <15 meters, range of 40 meters

No offence, but sonic blasts actually can be deflected by lightsabers (Ahsoka did in Season 5 of Clone Wars). But a spread of sonic blasts, sort of like a shotgun, would be hard to deflect.

A quote from the Star Wars wiki on the topic of Sonic Weaopns:

Sonic weapons where also widely used against Jedi, as a Jedi attempting to block such an attack with his lightsaber would find that the bolt would simply pass around the blade, to strike with less—but still quite lethal—stopping power.

So I would say that they couldn't stop a sonic attack.
