Physical Description

Height: 6’2
Weight: 200lbs

Appearance:
Despite living in what was essentially a cell for the past year, Jacob is incredibly healthy and athletic almost equal to his peak during his time as a Jedi. He has a number of scars and old wounds decorating his torso, legs and arms. The few that are barely visible were because of being too aggressive during early training sessions. The more visible ones were acquired from various missions. And most recent is a long clawed scar across his back, which was received from a Maalraas on Dxun.

Personality, Strengths & Weaknesses
Author Note: This section in general will greatly shift and change as Jacob recieves training.

Personality:
Since his return to the known galaxy Jacob is a contrast to his old personality. While he still maintains a measure of confidence and bravado it's at the moment a cover to hide his caution and confusion. He becomes calm and collected after a fresh stim injection, but as it nears to wearing off he becomes a lot more erratic and more liable to lash out even though he fears he'll hurt someone.

Strengths & Weaknesses:
+ Physical Prowess - Jacob's physicality means he's a innate fighter with a lot of strength and dexterity behind it.
+ Macgyver - His experiences as a kid on Nar Shaddaa has given Jacob a knack for making do with what's around him. If he's in a tricky situation he'll utilise what's around him to great effect.
+ Mechanic - Having worked in a number of workshops on Nar Shadaa, Jacob has some knowledge of mechanics, specifically on speeder/swoop bikes and ships.

+/- Untrained - Currently Jacob is without any Force training and has no memory of his previous life as a Jedi. This makes for a chaotic combo whenever he tries to use it. It's a useful tool for when in a pinch, but becomes useless if facing against a trained practitioner, or even someone with knowledge of Force.
+/- Improviser/Winging It - Even during his previous time as a Jedi, Jacob had a tendency to just improvise during troubling situations. The same goes for now a days, which is still as much as a double-edged sword as it was years ago.
+/- Voices In My Head - Jacob's experiences in the Netherworld has left his mind in a not completely stable state. Whenever he's using the Force two voices are ever present, trying to nudge him in one direction or another. This is mainly a hinderance, but can sometimes provide Jacob with insight he wouldn't have initially had.

- Emotional - In his current state Jacob is fueled by his emotions, which has a severe impact whenever he's off stimulants and trying to utilize the Force.
- Stimulant User - Jacob for now has to rely on stimulants and adrenals to block his connection to the Force, until such a time that he can control it without.
- Naive to the Force - Due to his loss of memory Jacob has very little knowledge of the Force.

This will be where old strengths and weaknesses will be kept should Jacob ever lose or overcome them.

Biography

Pre-RP:
Childhood on Nar Shaddaa
Jacob was born to Gregory & Elena Crawford in a dingy medical centre on Nar Shaddaa, and despite their crappy situation the new parents were overjoyed with their baby boy. Unfortunately after the first year Elena became ill, and it was apparent that the clock was ticking. They called upon a family friend to diagnose the problem only to discover that a complication during the birth had been overlooked and while Elena was lucky to have not died that night, it had now caught up to her. Knowing that they had limited time Elena pushed for them to get as much work as possible so they could at least ensure Jacob's future to the point they could get him off planet. This worked for the following year but Elena's illness grew worse and forced her to be bedridden for the remainder of her days. It was just after Jacob's fourth birthday that it finally took her life.
Gregory was a good man, but he fell into a bottomless pit so many do on Nar Shaddaa. Gambling had hooked him and it wasn't going to let go. The credits he and Elena had accured quickly dissappeared, though Gregory wasn't a fool and kept some as backup. But it was safe to say any future they had for Jacob was gone. As he became capable of helping Jacob was with his father working at various workshops that needed it. Even as an observer the young boy learned a few things. Then one day things changed, Jacob having been left in a side off room with some junk parts was discovered by his father to be levitating them. Gregory instantly realised that his son was Force sensative and all he saw was an opportunity.

There's a saying amongst the Underbelly of Nar Shaddaa, that there's something for everything here and what Gregory had in mind was no exception. Beyond the regulated dueling ring there was a less legal version that trained those hopeful to participate in the duels. It accepted anyone who wanted to fight, even children. At the age of ten Jacob was forced into it by his father. While it was particularly shady the illegal fighting had its own set of rules and principles, there was no killing or maiming only knockouts. But it didn't mean there weren't a fair share of backstabbing involved. Jacob had no choice but to learn how to fight and adapt, otherwise he'd face the wrath of his father who had become increasingly angry and neglectiful as his stack of debts grew. And rather surprisingly Jacob took to it quickly, utilising what little control over Force he had. It all came to a sudden stop when Jacob defeated his last challenger to qualify for the Dueling Ring, and in anger the opponent's father drew a knife and lunged at him. Jacob had no choice but to defend himself, turn the knife against the man and stab him. Resulting in the fact that at the age of eleven he had killed someone.

This was a turning point for Jacob, as not long after this event his father was approached by an associate of the Hutt he owed money to. He made the offer that if Gregory was willing to sell his son they would pay off the majority of his debt as long as the boy fought for the Hutt in the ring. Gregory accepted and the boy instinct was to run away distraught at the betrayal from his own father. Though as he fled through the streets of Nar Shaddaa he ran into his saving grace. A Jedi Knight, whom had been on a mission at the time. The man quickly identified Jacob's force potential and playing the orphan card, Jacob was taken from his home and to the Jedi within the Galactic Alliance.

Learning as a Padawan
It came as no surprise that Jacob's violent upbringing did not translate well when he first began as a Padawan. Despite this though he garnered a small group of friends amongst his peers, ones that would stick with him for years to come. The overall impression most had of Jacob was that he was the epitome of what a Jedi shouldn't be, but the Knight who had found him saw something that they believed would make Jacob into a great Jedi and pushed for his training. Over time he eventually grew out of his violent ways, generally focusing it into his combat lessons, but when he was finally appointed a Master he began to truly shift his life away from his past.

Advancement to Knight & Dissapperance
Despite the efforts Jacob went to distance himself from his past and focus on his training, it took many more years than it should've to be promoted as a Knight. Several times his Master had pushed the motion to send Jacob on his Trials, but the Council refused each time. They felt he had yet to improve enough and believed Jacob was still retaining some of his past ways whenever away from the Masters. His Master was tempted to send Jacob to the Silver Order, but instead secretly put Jacob through a series of missions that coincidently worked with the princples of the Jedi Trials. Before the council could catch on to this Jacob had completed it and they conceited to knighting Jacob. Though this ultimately put the Master under a bad light.
It was shortlived however as a few years later Jacob dissappeared during the events of the Netherworld Incident.

The Return, Memory Loss & Imprisonment on Dxun
In the year of 849ABY, an amnesiac Jacob Crawford returned to the known universe, appearing in the forests of Dxun. He was set upon by a pack of the moon's native beasts but was able to defence himself by using the Force, albeit it very uncontrolled, sloppy and purely fueled through emotion. Weakened and confused, he was easily subdued by a group of Onderonians who had been watching from a far. When he had awoke Jacob found himself locked in a small room that was fit more for a prisoner than a patient. It was clear they had done something to him, for hours he couldn't feel the Force as strongly and gave him some peace of mind until it wore off.
Days later he had learned that his captors were part of a research facility, charged with the capturing and experimenting of the various hostile wildlife to see if they were capable of being controlled and used as weapons. It became glaringly obvious though that their priorities had shifted to him, as one day he was pulled out of his room and thrown into a quasi arena to fight a creature. He took it down but had to rely on his untrained powers, which grew more wild and erratic as the fight progressed. Shortly after though he was injected with more stimulants and put back in his cell. This repeated for months as Jacob over time began remembering his past, particularly of his childhood but realised a significant portion of his life was a complete blank. All he could recall was that period of time had changed him, and that his childhood felt a lot more distant in comparison.

During the experiments being done on him, Jacob found an unluckily friend in the form of Doctor Rosalyn Pryce. She was originally the facility's psychologist that was there to assess the researchers, but was changed to keeping on eye on Jacob on a weekly basis. Unbeknownst to her colleagues she fed Jacob information to help him, namely about the stimulants and how he was a Force user. However Jacob was oblivious to the fact she was withholding information from him, that and she had a much bigger secret even her colleagues were unaware of.

The last fight Jacob had in the facility was a damaging one. He was pitted against an alpha Maalraas who proved to be the toughest challenge and resulted in a large wound across his back. Panicking the researchers injected Jacob with more stimulants and put him into an induced sleep so he could heal in a bacta tank. Shortly after he fully healed Jacob woke up to find himself laying on the floor and the facility alarm blaring out. Unaware of who had took him out of the tank, Jacob began an unsupressed rampage through the building.

Profile is finally finished. I'd welcome any feedback folks have! :D

On a different note: I was intending to name the Knight and Master from his old Jedi training, but I figured it would be interesting to get some established characters to fill the spots, to potentially have some interesting interactions down the line. If not I'll just give them some random names and they'll stand as just regular ol NPCs.

Anyway, I should hopefully get Jacob's introduction kickstarted tomorrow, though I'm unsure whether I should make it public or private?

Public or private? Depends what you want! I've always found Public threads to be fun; a good way to get to know your community, lets you play around with your character's voice a bit if you're just starting and haven't settled on a style yet, flexes those 'improv' muscles. They CAN, however, get a bit hard to follow if it gets popular.

That said, quite a story you've cooked up for Jake here! Can't wait to see him out in the 'verse. I'm on a bit of a Role Play hiatus at the moment, but once the New Years parties are over, I'll be looking to get back in the saddle. I have plenty of threads to finish, but I'm always up for some plotting if you want to fill one of those 'established character spots'. Hit me up! <3

I ended up going for a private thread for Jacob's introduction. I felt like a wide open public one wouldn't quite fit and instead went for a smaller group.

And I'll keep it in mind, I mean Jacob would've certainly had met, maybe befriending folks during his childhood on Nar Shadaa, or even had run ins during his old Jedi days.

Updated.

Started to make it a bit less plain, added bit more color into the biography though I really ought to find a suitable template and transfer it to that, rather than how basic it is right now.

Added a couple new details, added Breakout on Dxun and compressed his biography down to make room for current events, which will be updated once the threads are completed or are near to it.
