+Fighter: Jacen grew up in a community of fighters. From a young age he learned to stay aware of his surroundings, as well as how to fight bare handed and with various weapons
+Soldier: Jacen joined the Marines at a young age. He quickly took to the advanced combative techniques the Marines were training him in. No that he is part of Project Jaguar, he has gained even more training in combative technique.
+/-Project Jaguar: Being a soldier in this secretive force, he has access to a large variety of training and weaponry, as well as armor. It also means that socializing outside of the Project is very difficult, and finding common ground with civilians is even more so.
-Family: Jacen’s family was killed during the war against the former Monarchy, fighting on the side of the Crown Loyalists. This stigma has followed Jacen through his career, at the very least in his own mind.
-Cyborg: Jacen is as cutting edge with his cyberware as Commonwealth science can make him. The psychological stresses, along with other concerns, make him very closed off to people.
Appearance:
As Jacen was transitioned into being a cyborg as part of a military program, appearances are less deceiving than would otherwise be possible. When unclothed, Jacen has obvious cybernetic legs, as well as obvious cybernetic adaptations to his forearms, and a large percentage of his musculature. As Jacen was densely built even before becoming a Cyborg, he continues to be densely built. He keeps his hair shaved to a centimeter at most, and keeps his face clean shaven. His eyes are the same color brown that he was born with, but close inspection can reveal them to be cybernetic replacements as well.
Biography:
Jacen was born to a mining family in the asteroid belt of Alexandria’s home system. The entire community was fairly close knit, as the only outside influence aside from broadcasts were from resupply and ore shipments. Growing up was difficult, from the time he could walk, he was expected to pull his own weight, and he didn’t have much of a childhood as in an asteroid mining colony there isn’t much room for parks. Jacen did spend a lot of his free time in the hydroponics bays, enjoying the uv lights and the forced greenery. When he was young, the war between what would become the Commonwealth and the former Monarchy broke out. The majority of his family commandeered a resupply ship and attempted to go to the rescue of the royals on Alexandria. They were picked up fairly easily by a Commonwealth ship. Jacen, not quite understanding at his young age what the fighting was about, was locked in his parent’s quarters on the ship as the rest of his family went to fight off the boarders. All of them died fighting. The Commonwealth sailors found him, and took him aboard their ship. After the war had been won, Jacen finished his upbringing as a ward of the state, then as a Marine. He spent a long time as a Marine for the Commonwealth before an accident caused him to lose his legs. He was given a choice, muster out and live as a cripple for the rest of his life, or transfer to the Navy, join a secret project, and continue to serve. For a man who grew up with little choice, he made the decision quickly. As part of his retraining, he was commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant, then assigned as platoon commander for a squad of shock troopers.
