Strengths:
- Projectile control: The energy shield can withstand a copious amount of blaster or slugthrower fire before deactivating.
- Cumbersome: The energy shield isn't the greatest in close quarters, because of the fact that it negates a certain area for the user to fire, and a cunning opponent could grab the shield and yank it to it, taking the user along.
- Incomplete cover: Because of the round shape of the energy shield, it does not effectively cover the entirety of the user's body.
MandalTech has been constantly looking to improve in the field of weaponry: discovering new technology before their competitors allows for quite a sizable amount of credits to be made, and after many field reports and analysis, they released the J-32 Point Defense Gauntlet. The gauntlet is quite simple to use: one button will activate the energy shield, and the other will deactivate it. Thanks to a power generator inside the gauntlet (protected by the duraplast outline), the energy shield is able to take an impressive amount of fire. Once deactivated, the inner power generator needs a couple of minutes to cool down before being available for use again. So far, the Point Defense Gauntlet has proved to be a blessing in dangerous combat insertions.
