Intent: To create a heavy combat and planetary security droid for Silver Jedi forces and independent planetary governments under SJO protection.

Development Thread: (If needed)

Manufacturer: Lucerne Labs

Model: IX-6 Combat and Security Droid

Affiliation: Silver Jedi Order and allies

Modularity: No

Production: Mass Produced

Material: Plastoid, droid parts, blaster rifle parts, optical sensors, radio equipment, droid brain, rechargeable energy cells, secondary comm equipment

Classification: Fourth Degree

Weight: 70 kilograms

Height: 2.6 meters

Movement: Bipedal with forward facing knees and digitigrade legs

Armaments: T-21 light repeating blaster on the left arm, two SG-82 sonic rifles on the right hooked into the main power supply for unlimited shots so long as the droid has power and it doesn't overheat.
Misc. Equipment: Compound photoreceptors, radio, antenna, Heuristic processor, droid brain, memory unit, secondary communications, surge protectors, vocabulator

Strengths:
Hive mind allowing the droids to work together as one unit
Direct communication between droids using radio waves making a mass hack near impossible
Stun and lethal weapon settings
Large size and insectiod appearance makes them intimidating
Cheap so can be mass produced
Hive mind allows for information to be shared near instantly throughout every single droid on the battlefield allowing the droids to react and adapt to enemy tactics
With information shared between every droid in a unit they are able to increase their intelligence
Surge protection in the feet, legs, arms, and front of the chest

Weaknesses:
Individual intelligence and memory is limited
Left side heavy blaster rifle prone to overheating
Specialised communicators needed to pick up the radio waves
Basic is a secondary language with Verpine being the main language between droids
Thanks to Verpine engineering any droids worked on by Verpine tend to have reliability issues.
The surge protectors don't protect everything. If an ion blast hits an arm the droid will lose function in that arm. Also means large ion blasts will disable to whole droid.

Description:
With the need for more droids in the army and world security forces under SJO control the (company doing this here) hired on D'in Ss'ikoo. Bringing his experience from Roche Hive Mechanical Apparatus Design and Construction Activity for Those Who Need the Hive's Machines the Verpine quickly got working on an upgrade for the original IX-6 Heavy Combat Droid. Taking away it's durable heavy armour in exchange for more medium protection to cut down on costs.

With it's three blaster rifles the droid is able to put down a heavy barrage of fire to force enemies back even if they are in armour. This comes in useful for crowd control of civilians when the duel blasters in the right arm are swapped to stun. With their compound eyes they are also able to effectively aim at two different targets at once with each arm.

One of the major advantages of the droid however is it's ability to near instantly coordinate across an entire battlefield thanks to a radio communication system based off of Verpine physiology. Using narrow beam radio waves and multiwave broadcasts the droids are able to directly communicate with each other or use each other as a relay to move messages from squad to squad. Thanks to this they are able to coordinate a flanking attack and set up crossfires to quickly advance, surround, and eliminate their targets.

While the individual droid isn't much smarter then a B2 Super Battledroid their ability to communicate allows them to adapt to new threats and tactics even if the individual squad hasn't seen it yet. With messages being sent constantly between the droids across the entire battlefield they are essentially able to act like a hive mind without the need of a central computer like those on a droid control ship.

For planetary security the droids ability to communicate allows situations to be communicated back to security handlers. The disadvantage to this is the droid needs to spend a moment translating the message from Verpine to Basic before saying what is going on. However with their large size they are able to surround an angry mob and control it. If it gets to out of control the stun settings in the duel blasters on their right side are able to non-lethality eliminate threats.
