STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Strengths:
- [+] Firepower: With six artillery cannons, two rocket launchers, and two missile pods, the Tannhauser boasts impressive long-range firepower.
- [+] Firing Rate: Its powerful weapons are able to fire at a relatively rapid pace.
- [-] Speed and Maneuverability: With a low top-speed, and limited maneuverability, the Tannhauser is a sluggish machine.
- [-] Stationary Fire: The Tannhauser must be stationary, and deployed in its firing mode, to utilize its powerful weaponry.
- [-] Ammunition Capacity: Holding a limited amount of ammunition, the Tannhauser must be regularly resupplied during battle.
- [-] Defensive Capabilities: With no defensive weaponry, the Tannhauser must rely on support units to protect it.
Following the Military Executor's defection from the crumbling empire, the Lohengrin's production facilities, as well as any incomplete units, were destroyed. Scuttled to deny the One Sith the opportunity to reverse-engineer the artillery walker. In addition, the technical blueprints, and surviving units, were stolen by Baelor-loyalists, and transferred to the renegade fleet.
Like its smaller cousin, the Tannhauser's design underwent several modifications during its integration itno the Iron Empire's military. Primarily a refit of the offensive weaponry, so as to allow the walker to utilize the more powerful 240mm shells, and 300mm rockets. However, this was not without drawbacks. The more powerful ammunition effectively halved the range of the Tannhauser's cannons, and launchers. Additionally, the rate of fire suffered.
Similarly to the Lohengrin, the previous shortcomings of the Tannhauser were not addressed, and remained in the updated model. It was still sluggish, could only fire while stationary, had low ammunition capacity, and lacked weaponry to defend itself from direct attacks.
