I've come across a Dilemma.

Tash Muntag

General Tash of Rampart Division
So it's come to my attention, that leading a Division is much harder than I expected, considering most ships can't accommodate for 2800 troops. So I was looking for advice on which one of these I should do.

1. Bring a company at a time for most Dominions.

2. Downsize the unit.

3. Split the Division across Republic territory.

Thanks!

Not every unit deploys in mass, many time parts of them will be selected to deploy for different missions. I would have your division have a central "base" and use elements of them as needed at each event to fit the story.

That's what I was thinking. So obviously the base would be in Republic Territory, but which planet should it be built on?

Another idea is also keeping track of the transports you use. Maybe the division has a dedicated troop transport. Or perhaps you pick a small frigate or cruiser that is capable of atmospheric entry (Hammerhead, Acclamator, etc from canon which there are variants of on site).

As for a base any world that fits your fancy. You could base the division as part of a sector defense garrison's ground combat contingent in a particular system or whatever you like.

I was thinking about this at work and I have a RL story I would like to share with you. I once knew a General, a Division CG, who probably comes very close to what you are looking for with Tash.

You can have the Division be anywhere you want it to be. Whether it is the Capital of the Republic of one of the outlying planets. Me personally I like to go the outlying planets idea when possible.

So you are a General, there is a battle going on. You want to be a General but at the same time you want to be a proactive General. Ok so do what this guy did. Every morning while forward deployed the General hopped in the lead vehicle of the morning "Presence Patrol". This happened every morning day after day the entire time the Division was there.

In the case of Star Wars nothing says occasionally during one of these patrols Tash can't be the subject of an unexpected, unprovoked enemy attack. That way it can flip flop between running a whole Division yourself and getting some action while your staff takes care of a bit of the boring stuff.
