Well folks I suppose it's time to make it official, some of you will already know this but when Rolf steps down as Faction Owner, I'll also be leaving the administration team.
The First Order has been my home basically since I joined the site almost two years. It's been fantastic, I've met great people, had a lot of fun and we kicked butt together!
Recent events however, have made me realise that I am burned out with this. An attitude has developed among a vocal minority which, to be frank, has made me feel unwanted and unappreciated in the role I voluntarily have served for a long, long time. An anti-staff vibe has been floating around for months and I've finally had enough. When freedoms are given, nothing gets done. When I have to drive activity as a result, I am told I am not driving the right kind of activity. Efforts I've made to help out have been downright scoffed at in some circles with no alternatives put forward.
It's a bit of a downer to say the least.
This has been a great place to have fun and I think Chaos needs a place like the First Order. A strong Imperial Faction not dominated by Force Users, something resembling the classic antagonist factions seen in the movies with our own plentiful lore. The amount of time and love I have spent trying to nurture this place is testament to my feelings on the matter. But I've got to move forward, I've got to branch out and I've got to give myself a break from the stresses of Major Faction administration.
I'll be finishing up a few character arcs and then exploring new things with Samka. This isn't a goodbye, I will likely still be floating around on the Discord and I'll probably help out with things from time to time, I may even use a couple of my alts in the First Order should the muse strike me sometimes but I'll be drifting and won't be on the staff team.
Best of luck to the incoming administration, I hope you continue to kick butt and maybe I'll be heading back at some point in future once my batteries are recharged.
