"So what's all the commotion about-" Cas was shushed by the comms officer, the hologram of some desperate looking miner delivering a distress signal.
"... Is transmitting on all frequencies. If anyone receives this message... please... we need rescue... the Mining Ship Beskar'holm is... is... look, people are sick... and attacking each other."
The feed abruptly showed miners at their work stations, blasting away at rocks or driving mining trucks when some... things... vaguely humanoid in shape, descended on them, clawing and biting. The miners' screams of terror were drowned out by the things' howling, not to mention their brutal dismemberment and eating of the miners.
Cas couldn't help but cuss at the sight of the Rakghouls, creatures not seen or heard of in decades, existing only in obscure holonet references. "...Fethin'... hell are those?"
"If anyone can hear us, anyone... please help us, get us out of here. I'm holed up in the main comms room but... I don't know how long we'll last... people are stranded all over the place, barricading where they can. Please... we're just civilian miners..."
The sleep left Cas's eyes as the feed terminated and a silence fell on the room. Eyes turned to their field commander, Axel Vizla, aka [member="The Banshee"].
"So...Axel... We're... going to help those miners, right?" She asked, a bit hesitantly. Cas had always looked out for herself and her own, and believed only in the decency of helping others when you were capable of it. The Consortium employing her counted as helping her, and now it seemed time to pass the good deeds forward... That is, if the Paladins were in it for more than just credits.
(Mandalorian authorities)
The Distress call would also likely reach the Mandalorians, as the Mining Ship was inside their territory. It was unlikely this would go unnnoticed by the authorities.

Prologue: Briefing Room
Aboard the Paladin Consortium's Home Ship, "(insert name here Banshee)"
Several of the Paladins' specialists were summoned to the war room of the Paladin's home ship (I dunno which) to watch a distress call. Cas just finished a sleep cycle and was still in her jumpsuit, her dark hair a disheveled mess. She had also opted to wear polarized goggles for when she wasn't wearing her armor. She found the easy-cleaning jumpsuits comfortable enough and so much easier to clean, freeing up more time for training. She entered and found the usual operatives, [member="The Banshee"] "Commander", [member="Ghorua the Shark"] "Hey big guy", [member="Janev Noska"] and a newcomer to the Paladins, [member="Talia Rennan"] . She gives the new girl a pat on the back when the holo-transmission was played once more."So what's all the commotion about-" Cas was shushed by the comms officer, the hologram of some desperate looking miner delivering a distress signal.
