It is always sunny in Hypori
The meeting.

The moment Jared Ovmar came into possession of Santhe Corporation, he started to do research. What kind of holdings were there, are there any operations on-going that are hide from the public, the usual kind of stuff. In the end he came to terms with the fact that it would take quite some time before he would be able to figure out just how much assets he had acquired. After the dissolution of the Sith Empire Santhe Corp. was a mess, not that he could blame anyone there. It is hard to focus on logistics and administrative business when the threads of society gets loosened. It is every man for yourself at that point. In the end he did reveal something of interest, it seemed that Santhe Corporation had a joint venture with a different company, called SunTech Industries.

Something about Cloning and Prosthetics; the company in question was relatively small. At least if you compared it to the big dogs like Blas-Tech Industries, Baktoid and the such. That did not mean they did not have anything off value. Cloning could be a very lucrative business, if done right at least. But Jared did not like competition, even if it was a business that -should- be working together with Santhe. So he decided to.. eliminate the competition. With him he brought his trusty sidekick and co-entrepreneur @[member="Hannibal Oryen"]. They have had some business together already and Jared started to like the guy, though he was not sure why. Might have something to do with the amount of alcohol the man could process without turning into a stammering idiot.

Today they would meet with @[member="Gerion Ardik"] on Hypori. The last name ringed a bell, but Jared was not sure why. Anyway, the man was the Vicelord of the CIS. He probably would be able to help with certain legislation and the sort, that would be involved when dealing with SunTech.

"Ready for this, Hannibal? There will not be Rancors and Krayt Dragons this time, I hope. Just a snarky businessman, who reputedly poodoos gold."

@[member="Jared Ovmar"]

Hannibal looked like he was out of his element. Wise-cracking career mercenaries did not get decked out in business attire and go to meetings with economics in mind. Hannibal had never heard of this Gerion guy, though he was pretty sure there was an Ardik involved someplace in the Sith Empire. Maybe not. He had never been particularly up-to-date with that section of space's activity. He tried to steer clear of it, but now that it wasn't occupied any longer, he could stand to swing by. For now he needed to remain on Hypori to lend emotional support to Jared in his acquisition of some stagnating company no one had ever heard of.

Hannibal nodded, briefly flashing back to running down a sweltering canyon, live Rancor in pursuit. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just get this over with."

Jared had apparently done some dirty deeds to land him in control of Santhe. Hannibal had been much less ambitious in his choice of corporation to re-launch and re-brand. Cestus Cybernetics was a small little thing in the grand scheme of the galaxy. That's why it would be so much cooler when it inevitably morphed into the pan-galactic corporate juggernaut he envisoned it. A Cestian droid in every home and every army. Credits flowing like waterfalls. Products designed and progammed by the slick Fondorian himself. He'd be a legend, and he didn't even have to bag some ridiculous bounty or kill a bunch of mooks to do it.

Sooner or later that's what would happen, anyway.

Their location? The main government building of Hypori, the Sanctum of Vicelords, more specifically the waiting room. The specification was necessary to set the scene. It seemed his joke had fallen into bad taste, probably had been a bit too soon for Hannibal's taste. Then again, he -had- offered his help back then. But had been rebuffed, seemingly he had been too slow for the bald Mercenary. Oh well.

Then finally a servant came to escort them through the halls and into the office of the Vicelord himself.

"A pleasure, Vicelord Ardik. This is my bodyguard, mister Oryen and I am Jared Ovmar."

@[member="Jared Ovmar"]

Gerion sat at his ornate desk, a large window behind him showcased Hypori's picturesque skyline. Gerion did not look overtly pleased. As always, his demeanor was that of a grim faced and forbidding civil administrator who felt almost everyone in a three mile radius was likely incompetent, stupid, or both. The doors slid open, revealing the man who had requested an audience with him and some other unimportant, suit-clad individual. This was Ovmar's bodyguard? He should have brought a droid. It was a much greater display of wealth and much better for security. Gerion's personal escort of two MagnaGuards were posted on both sides of the door Ovmar and Oryen had just entered through.

If the Vicelord recognized Ovmar's pleasantries, he didn't care. He would much rather get back to running the business of Hypori and resolving the incessant labor disputes that continued to rock the place. The Umbaran gestured to the duo of chairs across from his desk, indicating the two to come forward.

"Take a seat." Was all Gerion said, devoid of emotion yet authoritarian all at once.

The man certainly did not look pleasant nor warm in any ways. Not that Jared had expected that, cold and authoritarian were two important virtues a businessman had to have. At least if he wished to be successful. With a nod he accepted the offer of a seat and sat down. Instinctively he knew that this man would only appreciate cutting right to the chase, he probably had more important things to do then get his ass.. well you know where this is going. Then again, there was a time to be arrogant and the alpha of the pack, and there was a time to show some respect.

This man had at least a few years on him and far more experience, showing deference was never a bad thing. As such he just waited until he was spoken to, no use in stammering things like an idiot.

The two slid into their seats adjacent Gerion. Ovmar, for some reason, decided to remain silent at this point. Gerion had not been told what this meeting was in regards to, but given that this man was the head of the Santhe Corporation, it was best Gerion make some time for him. Gerion did not remember Sasha fondly. He found her rude, crass, and an uncultured brat. This was allegedly the man who had seduced a girl approximately seventeen years of age. Not precisely Gerion's cup of tea, but everyone had their tastes these days. So long as it was consensual, Gerion supposed he could keep his lunch down. The age of consent was probably different wherever Ovmar came from.

"What can I do for you, Mr. Ovmar?" Gerion droned, already debating losing interest.

The fact of the matter was that he was a twenty-two year old lad, who had -allegedly- seduced a nearly eighteen-year old girl. Besides, he came from the Understreets, there was no age of consent there. He blinked. "Why was he suddenly thinking about these things. Almost as if he was answering invisible thoughts of someone.. Space Magic." In the end it did not matter, the man seemingly had no clue why they were here. Strange, he was sure he had sent a clarification note with his request. Then again bureaucracy was not always topnotch.

"There is a certain company based off Hypori with holdings in Kamino. They have had a joint venture with us for quite some time now and it has come to my attention that the CEO has mysteriously disappeared from the face of the.. galaxy. In light of certain regulations and fineprint of our agreement.. well.. let us say I wish to procure the holdings of SunTech Industries."

@[member="Jared Ovmar"]

Gerion had no idea why this was being brought to him. Perhaps a bureaucratic fubar. SunTech Industries did ring a bell. There were a great deal of union members who were upset with the company beyond all traditional meaning of the word. In the absence of their CEO, SunTech had not been very kind to its workers. Gerion also had holdings on Kamino in the form of Triumvirate Biosciences, but he had little idea of how SunTech was faring on that planet. More of the same, no doubt. Evidently Ovmar wanted to buy out SunTech or otherwise completely procure the company. It seemed strange that SunTech's board of directors had not appointed a new CEO in the absence of the one Jared seemed to have dealt with.

"Have you spoken to the new CEO?" Gerion ventured, raising an eyebrow. "Or the board of directors, for that matter?"

It was a common misconception that the CEO of a company was the absolute head of the company. That was a totally ridiculous concept. CEOs answered directly to a company's board of directors, who in turn were elected by the company's shareholders. Everyone knew that. A vanishing CEO could easily be replaced, as could any number of board members.

"Do you think I would be here, if that had not been the case? For some reason the better part of the board have disappeared also." Probably had something to do with them being.. taken care of by certain associates, not that Jared would ever admit to knowing anything about that. "And the remaining three are on sick leave, for the better part of a month now and there is no sign they will be back any time soon." Probably because they realized what was happening and closed themselves up in their strongholds, not even Jared's hand could reach them there. Well.. besides throwing a whole Fringean army at them, for some reason he did not think Ashin would have approved.

"You might see my problem here."

@[member="Jared Ovmar"]

"Interesting."

Well, that certainly was strange. Gerion summoned up a holo-display and began typing into the keyboard built into his desk, bringing up relevant information.

It was a miracle the company was still functioning. No wonder the workers were so upset, they probably weren't getting their pay check on time- if at all. This kind of malpractice and decaying company infrastructure would provide more than enough cause for the Hyporian officials to go in and seize control of the company. From there, he could see to it that all the company itself was sold over to Santhe. Hopefully Ovmar would treat his Hyporian employees better than SunTech had. Otherwise this would likely happen again. There were so many dastardly labor practices going on here that Gerion had to cover up or end depending on the situation. He didn't need more.

This was a good opportunity for Gerion. Not only could he snuff out another debacle, but he already had a prospective buyer to make sure things didn't get knocked too out of whack. He could, perhaps, argue with Jared and make irrational demands, but that was more counterproductive than anything. Santhe's business was good business, he was sure.

"I'll see to it that this is handled." Gerion said plainly after a few moments. "SunTech will be shut down and seized by the Hyporian government for a myriad of offenses. Some with more credibility than others, you understand. The properties and assets will then be put up for sale for a lower cost than an outright buyout. Sound agreeable?"

"Very much so, you have my thanks."

With that he stood up and gave the man a slight bow. There was nothing more to say then that, in the end it was a business well done to say the least. Casually he walked out of the building with Hannibal next to him. "So much to do.. so little time. " It was obvious Jared was quite pleased with himself.

"Well.. that was not that bad was it, Hannibal?"

@[member="Jared Ovmar"]

"Why'd you bring me, exactly?" Hannibal asked as soon as they cleared the front entrance and were back in the busy streets of Hypori.

That Gerion guy seemed like a right and proper jackass. Always had that smug look on his face. Hannibal was also somewhat skeptical that the arrangement agreed upon here was legal, but as a man who robbed banks, he hardly had any moral ground to stand on there. The fact that company officials had apparently been dropping like flies was also sketchy. Corporate warfare was a scary thing, Hannibal realized, and maybe he was in over his head with this Cestus Cybernetics business.

Nah, probably not.
