Description: ​

Setting about to create a more powerful reactor Colap stumbled across ancient tech known to the Empire of old. Utilizing five canisters of stabilized Isotope-5 and a particle accelerator beam he managed to come up with the design for the Isotope-5 Reactor.

Isotope 5 was traditionally used to power war droids and ships during the ancient times. It proved to be more powerful and long lasting than a hypermatter reactor. The canisters are inserted into the receivers pre flight. During the activation the particle beam bombards the canisters and a capacitor collects the power it produces and shuttles it off via conduits.

The Isotope-5 reactor is a great boon, providing enough power to mount extra shields and stronger weapons. It can also be used to double the power output resulting in a single stronger shield and clusters of stronger weapons. Theoretically a ship could function at double power on weapons and shields and maintain baseline power to all other systems, or vice versa.

Two systems at a time can be charged with dual power.

The drawbacks of the Isotope reactor is it's extreme volatility. Canisters that become destabilized by direct shots or overt fields can rupture, causing massive destruction, enough to blow a ship apart.

In addition the reactor requires two coolant tanks, a main and reserve. The reactor burns so hot that the coolant will literally be boiled off after two refuel cycles. If the coolant was to fail, the heat would destabilize the reactor, again blowing it apart with excessive force.
