Strengths:
  • Cheap: The Isku Droid Coordinator is extremely cheap to purchase and is commonly found even less expensive in used or second hand stores.
  • Easily Modified and Maintained: On top of being very cheap, as far as coordination devices go, it is easily modified to work with non Imani Corp droids and easily maintained to the point where if one were really short on credits a user could find individual pieces in junk stores and restore them to a usable state despite them not shipping together.
Weaknesses:
  • Easily Hacked: Cheap and heavily lacking in security features, the Isku is easily hacked and can act as a conduit to hack other droids connected to it.
  • Cumbersome: Heavy, cumbersome, and messy from all of the cables, the Isku Droid Coordinator makes quick movement and combat extremely difficult, meaning that users must usually walk or stand still when using the device or risk self harm or product damage.
DESCRIPTION
Consisting of a visor, wrist mounted consoles, a datapad, and a backpack-style data tranciever, Isku are coordination setups connected by cables that are used to control and regulate a group of droids, usually Imani Corp droids. The Isku is the most common and cheap option offered by Imani Corp and is easily recognizable from its bulky design and rounded, short, cylinder-like antenna . Easily modified to coordinate a variety of droids, even non-Imani Corp droids, it is popular with enthusiasts and casual users alike. While not as advanced and movement friendly as some of their more expensive models, the cumbersome set up does its job.

When connected to a visor and a compatible droid, a user is able to give commands, see what the droid sees, and or all of the other relevant data it is also collecting. In the case of the Isku, the monocle-type visor that it ships with by default isn't large enough to show the full vision of a connected droid. Instead, the small visor provides important information that would be common in a HUD such as detected lifeforms, enemies, and data readouts. It also comes with a headset and microphone so that it can hear what the connected droids are hearing and gives the ability to issue commands from a distance.

The small datapad is the main console of the set-up. On it a user can find real-time updates, data readouts and other information easily missed on the small visor it comes with. Settings such as volume, which droid it is connected to and how many, and other options are found there. The wrist mounted controls act as a quick way to change commonly used settings and can be set from the main datapad.

The antenna connected to the backpack device is what connects the user wirelessly to droids on its network. The backpack is also where the power supply and memory processor is located, storing all of the data collected from droids and information inputted manually by the user. Because it is such a common piece of hardware, it is easily hacked, leading to potentially dangerous situations where a hacker can even go as far as to hack the user's own droids through the hacked Isku.
