Beneath the cold, serious, and stubborn exterior that everyone saw; laid a man riddled with regret, and deep confliction. His life had revolved around one thing; duty to The One Sith, but the death of his wife changed that. He couldn’t abide the idea of his wife looking down on him in disappointment. As such, her goals became his. Duty had taken on a dual meaning; to serve and protect the empire, and to serve and protect its people.
These ideals lead him to be alone in the Sith. He was surrounded by those only interested in untold power, and others subjugation. The worst, however, saw the galaxy as their play toys and the people in it as theirs to torment and destroy. They were cattle for slaughter. While he was a pariah to many of these Sith, he still felt a great sense of duty to it. Torn between his duty to The One Sith, and his duty to his wife and people, every day was a struggle for the stalwart soldier.

- [+] Unpredictable and Experimental Leader: He has gained a reputation with the use of unorthodox tactics in the battlefield.
- [+] Respected and Feared: Out of respect or fear, the soldiers under his command will fight with absolute zeal.
- [+] Veteran: His years of service in the army have made him extremely proficient in the use of melee weapons and ranged weapons.
- [-]Age: A warrior in decline, he has passed his prime. Every day the sword in his hand is heavier, and the aim of his blaster is shakier. He tires more easily, and takes longer to recover.
- [-]Rigid and Stubborn: Unyielding and unbending. Once he has started going down a path, he will not deviate, and he will not turn back. When he makes a decision, he stands by it. Even if it put him at risk.
- [-]Sense of duty to his people: His care for his people is well known, and looked down upon by many of the Sith around him.
- [-]Night Terrors: Every single night; Isamu relives the death of his beloved wife. Her screams awoke him, and made it very hard for him to rest. He has become very haggard.

That love, however, did not keep his father at home, and left Isamu with a lonely childhood. He left to fight in the war, and returned home periodically. “Duty”, his father taught him. “Duty is what makes you a good man, a strong man. It’s what separates you from filth of this universe.” To Isamu, duty had a very different meaning. It meant abandonment. It was the word his father had used every time he left. “I have a duty to the One Sith”, his father said. “One day you’ll understand.” Isamu never imagined he would. He despised that word, and despised his father for using it as an excuse to leave.
He would leave, and then he would return. He would leave, and then he would return. It was a cycle of disappointment and resentment. This cycle would continue until one day, the cycle was broken. His father did not return. With the prospect of being alone in the galaxy, he sought out the one bastion of stability in is life that he could think of; the military academy on Coruscant. He wasn’t a convert, a believer of the cause; to him it was a roof over his head, and food in his stomach.
As the years went on however, it had become more than that. Duty, the word he had come to despise, changed. Anger gave way to understanding. Abandonment gave way to loyalty. He understood why his father kept leaving. The men and women who served beside him were also his family, and he had to protect them too. It was his duty to protect them. This realization put Isamu on a clear path; to fight and protect the soldiers standing beside him, and to further the interests of The One Sith. Year after year, battle after battle, death and destruction had become a familiar beast to Isamu. It threatened to harden him, make him numb to the world around him, were it not for the love of a woman.
Marida, a fellow soldier in The One Sith, was an idealistic woman. One who wanted to protect the civilians, the innocent people who had nothing to do with these wars. He thought she was naïve. “This was war” he thought. “People die in war, all the time.” This thought would come to haunt Isamu for the rest of his life.
Their love wasn’t flamboyant, it wasn’t extravagant. It was hushed, low-key, but it was enduring. As the years went on, it steadily grew. Each was a foundation, holding the other up in times of hardship. This foundation eventually crumbled on the day when the light of his galaxy was snuffed out. The two lovers had found themselves participating in the same operation; a strike against a band of filthy pirates who had stolen from The One Sith. The operation had been going according to plan, until Gale’s squad was ambushed by a pack of pirates. Isamu found himself torn between two choices; save his wife, and letting the objective get away, or securing it, and letting his wife die.
He fell into an ocean of despair. It engulfed him, suffocated him. The currents of self-loathing dragged him out, while the waves of anger crashed into him. The guilt he felt for his wife was an anchor attached to his foot; it dragged him further and further into the darkest depths of the abyss. Every night he was afraid of entering that ocean and being faced with what he did. Every night he wanted to end his own life, every night he put his blaster into his mouth, and every night he was too cowardly to pull the trigger.
The galaxy is a cold and lonely place, and Isamu had found himself alone in it again…
