Strengths:
Tachyon Production - The TFEI is the pinnacle of bleeding-edge particle accelerators. Designed to excite the Tachyonic Field, its four different Electromagnetic Accelerator Rings succeed at colliding two Tennessine Ions to produce Tachyons
Weaknesses:
Energy Consumption - The TFEI is one of the most energy-intense devices in the Galaxy. It's massive energy signature makes it extremely detectable. Its operation is also extremely limited, allowing only one run every few days
DESCRIPTION
Project Invariant is the collective effort of the ESDRS to develop technology capable of producing and weaponising Superluminal Tachyon Particles. The Tachyonic Field Excitation Instigator is the first product of this vast effort.
A particle accelerator capable of colliding a pair of super-heavy ions of Tennessine. The Accelerator begins with an ion of Calcium-48 and Berkelium-249. These ions are accelerated to just 0.0025m/s below the speed of light. They're cycled around a Dipole Electromagnet Ring first, then focused along a Quadrupole Electromagnet Ring, and so on until the Super-Focusing Hexadecipole Ring focuses them into their final collision. This final collision produces the Tennessine particles needed.
With extremely short half-lives, the Tennessine particles are quickly magnetically confined and halted. Their decay is slowed to an adequate rate allowing another cycle. Before the Atoms decay, they're sent back to the beginning of the mechanism where, like the Calcium and Berkelium, the pair are sent in opposite directions first around the larger Dipole ring, then down the magnetic order, from Quadrupole down to Hexadecipole. Their collision happens after only microseconds, but the energy released is enormous.
Tennessine is the second heaviest (Synthetic) Atom in the Universe. To accelerate such a mass to only a minimal percentage below the speed of light requires massive amounts of energy. This energy is fed from an external Antimatter Reactor array running on over 100% Capacity. Once the particles collide, the energy released is enough to excite the elusive Tachyonic Field.
The Excitation of the Tachyonic Field produces a large quantity of Tachyon Particles that are captured and injected through a Magnetically Caged Injector, keeping the Tachyon Particles from interacting with any other matter. With contained and movable Tachyon Particles, the Instigator lays the groundwork for the production of Tachyon-Based Weaponry
