Location: Endor

The Harlequin class came out of hyperspace as Matsu sat in the center of the large observation deck, the transparasteel cleared so she was sitting in the open looking area that showed her in space on the surface of the ship. She was looking down at the forest moon while she slowly brought one of the books around her up. She cracked it open while review some of the information she had one the world. Thanks to Kha'ro helping retrieve some books she had been able to gather books and tomes from the edge of the unknown regions. She waited until the ship was ready to send her down, there was a new padawan to get into the field as it were and she could do a great many things with him when it came to exploring that world. SLowly Matsu rose up going to the lift and descending while she grabbed her belt and robes. Loaded with equipment for them to use while she got her pack over her shoulder and sabers. "Are you ready to go padawan?"

Endor. Why Endor? A vast, forest-like planet filled with all sorts of creatures, both big and small, located all the way out in the Outer Rim. Why couldn't Calos ever be sent on a mission on a beautiful beach-like planet? Hell, even Manaan would not be that bad compared to this. Lots of water and creepy fishy aliens walking about, but at least you know whats coming. Forests? Calos hated them. Thousands of trees surrounding you, all potentially filled with something that could pounce and eat you for supper. Oh how he hated forests. Meditating quietly when Jedi Master Ike arrived, Calos' eyes burst open when she questioned him. Master Ike was a young master, having risen to such a rank before the age of 30. Human but having qualities and traits Calos had never seen before, Master Ike was known to be naturally curious, so Calos knew what he was getting into when he was signed on for the mission. If only he had learned forests would've been involved...

"Of course, Master. Ready as I will ever be." Calos stood from his stance, tucked his saber neatly in its holster and smiled. It was rather fake, but even still, he was excited to get out of the temple. Anything beat the temple honestly, even the forests of the moon of Endor. Marginally so, but still. Ready whenever Master Ike was, Calos prepared himself mentally for the mission ahead, and calmly stood behind her. One thing was absolutely certain however; Calos was determined to learn all he could from Master Ike, and he personally would not leave the planet until he had gleaned some knowledge from her wise mind. His smile fading as the lift descended into the forests below, Calos immediately scanned the treeline around him. Nothing, and I mean nothing, would surprise them with Calos, Jedi Tree Watcher on the job.

Matsu looked at the padawan scanning the trees as they were heading down and she waited until they were firmly on the ground before she was moving, flying in a ship and not under her own power was still one of the things she didn't always enjoy... Maybe a control thing but Matsu was walking while her twin saber sat in small sheaths on the belt and her disc saber opposite. She hadn't brught much else to enfor but had a few tricks and gadgets in her belt should it be needed. The utility belt something worthwhile before she was moving her attention to the trees and crouching down. "FIrst lesson for this, a jedi knows how to sense with the force but that is vague and broad it isn't focused. A skilled one can filter their senses to detected different things, from the ebb and flow of the force in other jedi to the beating of the heart that sends vibrations through the planet itself." She was looking up and expanding her senses out to detect life around them more then anything and slowly shifting the dirt and sand to form an area. There was waved movement while Matsu was teaching but trying to think how best to explain it. "Place your hand on the ground and feel for the planet itself, feel the heart of it, feel the surface where its inhabitants walk across it and leave imprints."

Calos watched the master branch out, her senses literally filling the area around them. She must've seen him watching the treeline for ambushes or attackers. A little embarrassed, Calos knelt down to the ground and laid a hand on the loose dirt. He had done this hundreds of times as a child, but only now did it feel different. He could feel the vibrations in the dirt and the feelings of life around him, filling his mind and body. Endor, though indeed a forest, was filled to the brim with all sorts of life and animals. It was absolutely beautiful in so many ways, and Calos couldn't help but smile. He was only feeling a slight amount of life around him, but even this made him happy. To be able to connect to life in such a way was wonderful, and he yearned for more. Nodding to her, he awaited more instructions.

Matsu watched the padawan as he was feeling it and she was paying attention to the life on the edge of her senses. The sight of it there for a moment as the largest collection of it appeared within a field. There were creatures flying around and Matsu stood there watching them while she edged the meadow seeing mountain in the distance and there were the sounds of a river beyond the multicolors of the wisties dluttering about. "Have you had much training in stealth and minimizing your presence in a planet? We do not want to leave a large trace that we are here and some of these creatures can be easily spooked."

Calos was still feeling throughout the world, his senses watching over the various animals and creatures that covered Endor. It felt amazing, almost like flying, to be able to watch over the planet from afar. He slowly pulled out of the feeling and smiled, overwhelmed with the power of the Force. Realizing he had not responded to Master Ike, Calos stumbled for words at first. "No Master. No training on that just yet. Still honestly learning." Calos knew a Jedi had to be sneaky at points and the overwhelming signatures of the Force made that difficult. Many Jedi had mastered the ability of suppressing their Force signatures, and Calos hoped he would be taught how.

Matsu paused as she looked forward but crouched lower, on the edge of the meadow and forest before she turned to speak. "Alright then we'll practice that." She looked at him while bringing out her hands. "The concept is harder to explain, you need to search and feel your presence in the force and then slowly work to fold it, keep folding it until your ability to sense it requires you to refine and focus deeper itno the force. This is the beginnings of art of the small and with it you will be able to learn how to focus and find or hide a great many thing." Matsu was crouching there and looking at him as she placed a hand more to let him feel it, her force signature slowly becoming smaller and smaller. "I can only explain how to focus and do it but the real power is within you and ability is yours."

Calos sat near Matsu and took a deep breath. Closing his eyes, he focused on his own signature, trying his best to hide it. Difficult enough it was, with birds and other animals constantly making noise around him. Making sure to calm himself, Calos finally relaxed into a meditative state. Focusing on his problem, his own signature, slowly, Calos bent it into a small form. It was not nearly as small as Matsu's, but still, he had effectively lowered his signature enough to be unnoticed in large crowds. Proud of himself, Calos looked at Matsu. "That was more difficult. Teach me more." He was happy. Learning this from a Master gave him the ability to train it when he was alone.

Matsu was looking at him while she was moving and spoke. "That can be done but don't rush to learn everything... You'll get plenty in time while we are here." Slowly she was moving and letting herself remain small and hidden while she went along the edge of the meadow and forest leading to a small cliff as she was looking down. "When you jump bring the force to yourself and push it into the ground to slow your descent." Matsu lept throwing and creating a cushion while she was slowing herself down from impacting the ground, she looked up and motioned him closer while there was more in the meadow and she let her force energies become small again for what was around her. Eyes tracking around the area she was able to turn towards the mountains in the distance and the sounds of more creatures in the distance.

Calos took a deep breath and threw himself to the sky, laughing as he flew. Landing with a thud and slightly losing his balance, the young man stabilized himself and focused. He couldn't be jumping around like a rabbit and losing his footing, now could he? Making sure to focus, Calos leaps up into the air gracefully and lands near Master Ike. Smiling as he learned the pivotal Force Jump ability, Calos was really getting into this. Being able to slow his own descent by using the Force was exciting enough. Closing out his force abilties and lowering his signature, he awaited more instruction from Master Ike.

Matsu was feeling the excitement of the force while she was moving and as the sense of creatures coming and going around them gave her a pathway to lead them to the base of a mountain. She was looking up and at the path while looking over towards the padawan as she grinned. "Well next part is to reinforce your stamina and body so that it can lost for a long time." She was looking at the mountain and him. "First inhale the air and feel the force within it as it feels your body and then exhale it to spread throughout your body." Matsu was moving up the small foot path that weaved throughout the mountain.
