Strengths:
• Hawk-Bat Outta Hell. This ship is insanely fast at lightspeed.
• Mobile Repair Depot. Able to position substantial manufacturing resources anywhere in the galaxy.
• Heavy shielding. Deflector shielding and jamming fields provide dual-layer kinetic and EW defensive screens.
Weaknesses:
• Restricted Maneuvering. The Venator handles like a beached whale.
• Limited offensive capabilities. This is a commercially-owned exploration vessel, not a military star destroyer.
• Get behind me. Main weapons only cover a 270 degree firing field facing forward.
Description: Once a ship-of-the-line for the Old Republic, the Intervention met an untimely end in 20BBY at the hands of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, when he crashed the ship on the planet Boz Pity. The astonishingly intact wreckage of the Intervention was discovered by the Silver Sanctum Coalition in 844ABY, during civil affairs actions in that sector. With the threat of the Galactic Alliance-One Sith War threatening to spill into the Corellian System, and Corellia Digital's outreach into the vast Kathol Outback, Sor-Jan Xantha saw the need for a high mobile manufacturing ship and repair depot capable of protecting itself from a variety of threats.
With the permission of the governing Silver Sanctum council, Sor-Jan leveraged contacts at Sasori Research and Lucerne Labs in order to effect the salvage of the Intervention wreckage and return it to space. Using modern avionics and components from Silk Holdings, Sasori, and Firemane, the Intervention was transformed from a troop carrier of the Clone Wars into a floating factory with substantial resources for frontier exploration.
Originally outfitted with 8 heavy turbolaster turrets, Sor-Jan reduced that number by two in order to install ion cannons in their place. The ship's respectable, if meager, firepower covers a forward-facing arc that leaves the aft section lightly defended. This isn't a ship intended for protracted combat. Like the Alderaan Queen, the ship's redesign stresses speed over superior firepower.
