Affiliation: Sith Assassins
Manufacturer: One Sith
Model: 'Shedim' Pattern Stealth Interceptor
Modularity: None
Production: Limited (Sith Assassins Only)
Material: Matrix-Steel / Nutorium Alloy, advanced targeting array, neural interface & Ship Components.
Classification: Stealth Interceptor.
Length: 18 Meters.
Height: 3 Meters.
Width: 15 Meters.

Armament:
  • Primary: 2x Twin Linked Vulcan Charric's
The Primary weapons of the Shedim, each of the wings, nearest the hull are equipped with two rapid-fire maser cannons which are capable of shredding fighters and bombers apart. The rate of fire interchanges between each of the barrels on each side to deliver two consistent streams of offensive output while the decrease of stress that would be present without the barrels prevents the weapons from overheating. The Harrowing kinetic and magnetic force with these advanced chiss sources weapons makes short work of shields and armour, though the caliber of the weapons makes them difficult to harm large ships of Cruiser Class or higher. Additionally these weapons, although barely noticable are on a 10 degree pivot connected to the ship's range-finder as an aim assist system, custom to this ship model.

    Range: 2500m || Firing Rate: 2100Rp/m

  • Secondary: 2x Concussion Missile Bay
Making up for the ships complete inability to harm larger vessels, within each of the jets wings, it holds 2 missile bays capable of holding two small anti-fighter concussion missiles. Stock standard these missiles are tuned to be able to bank and turn much faster than the average missile, made to combat fast flying vehicles but at the cost of payload strength. The blast of the missile is enough to deal hull damage to larger star-ships but is more than capable of harming Corvette Class Ships and Blowing Fighters/ Bombers/ Freighters out of the sky.
    Range: 3000m || Ammunition Total: 4

Special Features:
  • Nutorium / Matrix Steel Hull.
The Nutorium / Matrix steel hull of the Shedim is one of the few specifically chosen articles which gift it its status of a stealth craft. The plating allows the craft to be hidden from most scanners which attempt to deduce its location as well as what is within the ship itself. Being able to hide from scanners also allows the ship to evade and disguise itself from targeting arrays which use radar to lock onto a target, making missile lock on the Shedim difficult to near impossible. In addition to its stealth quality, the armour itself is deceptively tough, able to take the odd impact from other fighter class weapons and even glancing blows from larger weapons.

  • Degaussed Armour Plating.
The armour of the Shedim is also Degaussed or Depermed, erasing the permanent magnetic signature of the ship entirely, hiding it further from electronic targeting or targeting its magnetic signature. Although, the magnetic signature of the ships' Ray shield is more than capable of being locked into through this method, usually requiring the shield to be dropped for greater stealth proficiency.
  • Holographic Disguise Matrix.
Considered the Coup de Graces of the Shedim, the ship comes equipped with a Holographic Disguise matrix which projects a solid state hologram capable of confusing sight and optical sensors, able to capture and project the area behind it almost seamlessly to the point that even most droids wouldn't be able to spot the difference. As an additional effect, the Holographic Matrix can also project images inside the cockpit, for things suck as projecting the same images in reverse, allowing the pilot to see the outside of the ship where metal would normally prohibit sight.

  • Basic Ray Shielding.
The Ray shields of the Shedim are rather basic in contrast to its stealth output, not advanced, while at the same time not being out-dated or redundant Ray shielding is equipped to the Shedim, capable of taking some dedicated punishment from energy weapons before triggering a fuse and requiring re-booting. These shields don't protect the ship from physical projectiles and are particularly prone to Ion weaponry.

  • Droid Docking Station.
The Shedim, Much like the X wing, has an interior docking station for an astromech or piloting droid behind the chair of the Pilot. Much like the Co-pilot seat in modern aircraft. This position operates the targeting array of the ship as well as both sub light and hyperspace navigation. The performance of which largely relies on the Droid Docked. Some of the Ships can instead be innovated to have a co-pilot/ gunner seat , but such comes to the preference of the pilot.
  • Advanced Targeting Computer / Rangefinder.
To accomodate the ship's fast speed and handling, an advanced targeting computer was necessary to keep up with the ships speed, routed into the weapon systems to allow radar-locking missiles as well as aiding with the aim of the Charric primary weapons with prediction algorithms and software the targeting computer unless disabled, reads the speed, acceleration, direction and distance between the Shedim and the targeted ship, and so long as they are within a 10 degree angle will fire weapons on interception paths as opposed to direct lines. Making the main weapons leagues more accurate than basic star-fighters. However, skilled pilots need not such assists, and can even become a hindrance. (s it takes control away from the pilot.)
Maneuverability Rating: 1.5
The Shedim comes stock standard with its own Ion propulsion engine which is cooled by space vents, giving the ship over-all a very low heat signature. Combined with additional strategically placed Maneuvering Ion Thrusters and an Etheric Rudder the interceptor is VERY hard to keep up with in a dogfight. Capable of sharp turns at high speeds as well as advanced maneuvering on par with some TIE fighters. The Shedim is not a ship to be taken lightly.

Speed Rating: 1.5
The Shedim with its sleek shape, small size and wide horizontal engines, is faster than most offensive craft, capable of keeping up with craft like the Eta-2 Actis and other Interceptors in speed and maneuverability. It's sub light speeds are staggering in comparison to it Hyperdrive speeds, often leading people to jest about the Hyperdrive slowing the machine down.

Hyperdrive Class: 6
However while the Shedim has speed and maneuverability, this has taken a vast amount of mass in terms of hardware within the ship, leaving the Shedim to be equipped with a bare bones hyper-drive which, tends to be used as an additional battery having power routed from it than ever being used for its primary function. Without doubt, it is a slow Hyperdrive, making the ship rely on the Hyperdrives of the carriers which had taken it into battle rather than its own.

Strengths:
  • Stealthy In and out of combat
  • Quick and Agile
  • Advanced Targeting
  • No Enemy Missile Lock
Weaknesses:
  • No Heavy Offensive Output
  • Terrible Hyperdrive
  • Low Missile Ammo Capacity
  • Much Lower Performance out of Space
Description:
The Shedim is first and foremost an air-superiority fighter/ interceptor. It is made to outperform other fighters on the ground on which they should be superior to other ships, in speed, maneuverability as well as utility. The Sith Assassins having taken the plans for the various technology used in the ship from a Sith Museum on Dromund Vatsu. The raid being instrumental in the development if this craft. In testing, the ship proved to be most everything that the Sith Assassins wanted it to be, it outperformed the statistics of fighters like modern X-wing models and other high performance craft, mainly due to its rare ability to have its stealth output working in tandem with its offensive output simultaneously.

Preceding the Ziz, Behemoth and Leviathan as the first of the ships under the umbrella codename: Project Therion. This ship is meant to be the primary fighter of a stealth based fleet owned and used by the sub-faction of the One Sith. As a rather compact and thin fighter it doesn't tax the hangar space of the carriers it is docked with. The Shedim's primary advantages in combat are, ironically, immediately apparent. Avoiding the use of the rare Stygium Crystal, the ship employs a Holographic Disguise Matrix capable of fooling the naked eye and optical targeting, supported by the material which composes the alloy of the hull as well as its cool running temperatures aided by the vacuum of space, enables this vessel to become like a phantom in the skies.

Though the ship is not without its weaknesses, some of its systems are not congruent with its stealth output, Ray Shielding rather blatantly, if active, counteracts the advantages of the ship's Degaussed Hull, making ship radar capable of targeting on the electro-magnetic spectrum to be able to gain radar lock for guided missiles and locate the vessel. Not to mention that the vessel is almost exclusively designed for space combat compared to within the atmospheres of worlds, which will reveal the thermal signature of the ship as well as slow it down considerably, making the Shedim much more average in overall performance.
