Iskendyr sat at his terminal, the one in the corner of his room aboard an old SSD that had been turned into the Tavlar Military Academy. They were outside Galactic Alliance space, somewhere in old Confederacy territory. Iskendyr was typing away, chatting with a Waraxe 70k group discussing the latest bits of lore about the hobby. The Space Troopers and Chaos Space Troopers' new stories that had been unveiled by the Obsidian Library, the Galidraani Workshop the company that owned the Obsidian Library. There had been a recent live stream that also included new stories about the Ildar and Dark Ildars, and so much more.

DISHORDE: WARAXE 70K SERVER 501

ULTRAR_TROOPERS21: We're finally getting the Siege of Terros!
DYR70K: I know, can't wait to pre-order.
ULTRAR_TROOPERS21: You still working on those Chaos Troopers?
ALPHASONS: Sons of Alpha, right? Best of the CSTs.
DYR70K: Uh, I actually have the Hundred Suns. I liked the aesthetics.

He leaned back in his chair and glanced over at his minieratures on the wall beside his terminal and smiled, when he turned to look back at the chat, a new person had entered.

With the Mandalorian conflict having hit a bit of a lull - did they even celebrate Life day? Did they have anything similar? He didn't know - Toby had hit a bit of downtime. He'd been getting stuck into something some of his peers at school had been obsessed over, that he had been too committed to his studies in the past to pay much attention to, curiosity over it re-entering his wandering mind, finally, so many months after his graduation: WarAxe 70k. A friend had leant him one of the novels once, and it'd almost hooked him right then and there. But with finals coming at the time, he'd never finished reading, and shipping off to the Jedi soon after walking to receive his high school diploma, he needed to give the book back.

Becoming a Jedi had been enough excitement then, but he'd since settled into a kind-of routine. Training, practice, getting to know his peers, missions here and there... it was a bit like school all over again, but at the same time it so wasn't because he kinda lived with his peers and school didn't do that many field trips. Maybe this was more what a boarding school was like? He could never really know.

In the now, sitting at the terminal in his quarters with a high degree of encryption inbuilt by the Order's technicians to conceal a number things such as location, identity, etc, Toby had been staring at the DISHORDE server in the list for twenty minutes trying to come up with a handle before clicking to join, having barely scratched the surface on the game's mountain of lore; it was difficult to really know just where to start with this whole thing, but he was undeniably thirsty for more. Scratching the back of his neck, the long drawing of blanks, mulling it over continued until he finally accepted that he could kinda choose anything. He could change his handle later if he wanted or needed to.

With trepidation, he entered the server and went about changing his default nick to LOR3_L4D16. After reading over the chat that had been going on just before he entered, Toby had a burning question -

LOR3_L4D16: Hey, ah... what's the Siege of Terros?

Force, this was awkward. Knowing virtually nothing always made him feel heckin' awkward. He wasn't used to that at all; it was what made him so nervous that he spent so long coming up with a potentially temporary u/n. He absently grasped the water bottle next to his terminal and flipped the nub up to sip water, his attention just as divided as he watched more than a few names appear as typing below his message field, sipping more out of anxious habit than actual thirst as some people simply welcomed him... but more were still typing.

What in the heck were they writing? A novel? Toby's suspense was mounting with every passing second...

LOR3_L4D16: Hey, ah... what's the Siege of Terros?
ULTRAR_TROOPERS21: One of the biggest events!
DYR70K: Basically it's... Uh

Iskendyr exhaled and scratched the back of his head. How the heck did he summarize it? It was a huge event, it was the penultimate battle in the Heresy. It was also the greatest battle of all time within the 70K universe. The whole of the Throneworld, the entire Terros Solar System, pitting traitor hordes of the Warlord Ra against the desperate defenders of man, commanded by the Praetorian. Iskendyr looked at his screen as others began to fill in what the Siege of Terros was, and so Iskendyr typed up.
DYR70K: It's one of the biggest and greatest battles within 70K. You have the traitors Chaos Space Troopers with the Warlord Ra, and then the loyal Space Troopers with the Praetorian. The Praetorian and Ra were brothers, and all the primasters on either side are their brothers too. The Siege of Terros is the big battle before the finale within the Heresy. We're getting the big novel and then a new game, that focuses strictly within the 60K lore leading up to the Heresy.
NUN4U_SISTRS: It'd be a really wild place to start, if you're new.
DYR70K: Our book club has great recommendations for beginners.
ALPHASONS: Siege of Terros is amazing though, you get a lot of great action, lore and of course everyone's favorite Warlord.
DYR70K: Not... Everyone's favorite. I personally enjoy the Hundred Sons and their Traitor Primaster Atticus the Crimson. I also run loyal Space Troopers, the Verdant Drakes, because who doesn't like fire?

He hoped it wasn't too much information at once. There were still other people typing, and someone else just input what felt like a wall of text. Even Iskendyr's eyes seemed to go cross trying to read it, but he certainly appreciated someone taking the time to explain it all. It's still a lot, and he didn't want the new person to get scared off.

DYR70K: @LOR3_L4D16 It's a lot, and nobody here is going to expect you to know all of this or even understand it. Trust me, it's... it can be overwhelming. I like the lore cause it's a nice distraction, plus there's a group at my school that plays.
