Initiations

The jedi had given her a chance.. someone special showed aptitude from her species and was wiling to come and show the people of the galaxy... that went a long way as the Del-Ya was flying over the mountain range towards the open temple. THe masive trees of the planet obscured the shadowlands but Serana was not in danger of things.. if anything she was pumped and excited coming down on the edge of the massive trees and seeing the scale of them, seeing the buildings and the temple where the jedi padawan would be able to come and join her. SHe stretched out her wings and folded them in with her saber in her pack. her equipment in the other and she stomped her hoof into the dirt while going forward with a bobbing of her head. THe wookiee's had an interest mainly in seeing a flying horse with a sharp horn on her head. "So where is he?"

Now was the big day; Tay was going out into the field and learning with the aid of a jedi master. He was still a padawan of course but he didn't mind that; this was the next step to knighthood, and a good opportunity to see the galaxy and keep the peace. He wandered through the halls, vibrostaff strapped to his side as he navigated to the council chambers to meet with his soon to be master. They hadn't told him much about them, just that they were important and would be as new to teaching a padawan as he was to learning from a single master. He wanders into the chambers, hooves clicking on the floor as he mentally runs through his checklist, he had everything. Probably had everything, he couldn't remember if he was forgetting anything.

THe approach was there and she could feel something on the back of her neck, the hairs rasiing up while the jedi master stepped into the room and looked at the padawan with a nod of her head. The horn prominent and there his outfit simple.. mane great but she moved forward and stood tall at the ready. "Welcome to the jedi order padawan." A look was on her face though while she stepped forward and at least she didn't have to make awkward conversation.. she had noticed that jedi usually seemed to shake or embrace with their hands and had often patted her neck or done something with her mane. "I am Serana."

He was expecting a human, perhaps a Twi'lek at a push, what he was not expecting to see was another Del-ya, especially not this one; everyone back home talked about this one, about her skill and of course, the sub species that she was; more legend than person yet here she was in all her horned and winged glory. He bows low to her, staying humble as he could; he was the same age as her yet she was already a master. "My name is Taydo'la, master." he replies dutifully, going to straighten up as his staff conked him on the back of his head with a dull clang.

"Well welcome Tado'la." She said it with a smile or the way their could smile with a mouthful of teeth and no real lips.... The Del-Ya was standing tal and at the ready while the other jedi who were around got a chance to really see them and look over at all fo the things. The nod she got while leading the ay though was worth it and the jedi master walked tinto the gardens as she spoke. "I was surprised to hear another wanted to leave our homeworld.. but I am not against this. Welcome to the order and now tell me about yourself and how has home been. I haven't been back in awhile so seeing what the others have been going through it something that would be nice."

"Thank you master." he bows once again, a very polite being it seemed, if not perhaps a bit restrained around her as an authority figure. He walks alongside her through the halls, somewhat disliking the looks he got from the other jedi; it always seemed like he was looked at as an oddity or something unusual, and that just didn't make him feel at home in the order fully. "Well I was more picked up on account of my skill with a blade and the force, coupled with my ability to apply diplomacy to situations. My parents were of the usual line of philosophy for our kind. It took a lot of persuasion from the jedi order to our people before they were allowed to train me off world, so for a few years I trained on our home world alongside the guard, under watch from the jedi until it was decided by the elders that they would allow me to be taken off world and trained in the ideals of the jedi order. Home has been, well when I left quite a few years ago home was as it has always been; I don't think anything could change that world anymore, everyone is too set into their ways." he explains as he matches step

She lisrtened to him speaking and it was giving jher a few ideas of ways to train the padawan but there was also the chance to well bond. She was considered a myth and oddity on her own home world.. her sub-species rarely seen and their home the moon where they were once said to stay overrun by nasty creatures. So she was a little happy to hear about it and flicked her tail while moving over next to him. COmfort and he seemed uncomfortable a little about the looks. She had gotten use to those when she was first around but moved her head towards his. "Hey now, don't worry about the looks, they are curious and unsure about us.. not many will have seen or grown up with Del-Ya."

As they walk through the gardens, Taydo takes a deep breath, closing his eyes, not that the eyes could be seen behind his goggles anyway, he breathes slowly as he focuses on the nature around him, feeling all the energies as the passed through. Of course his master's energies were rather overwhelming through all the others; her kind were creatures of legend with their power and he could tell why. He opens his eyes again after his brief meditation while walking "I know master, it just doesn't do much to help me feel at home in this order. I just feel like an outlier, or an oddity. You at least get the respect of your rank, I just get odd looks with nothing else."

"You just have to find something endearing and the others will come with you. For me well I can admit I spent a great deal of time with my master. Joza was strong and had knowledge but she was also.... dangerous compared to many. Popular as well, the jedi liked her so her padawan was someone that they liked as well." She said it and well there was the other jedi knight who wanted to teach her and seemed to really like her... like strangely like her.... she had felt strange at times even. "We'll find you something to enjoy and you can meet other jedi around the order, see what they do." Before long though she had come to one of the open fields and it was for jogging and running to exercise. The two of them could move around here while practicing the force energies. She looked at some of the logs and rocks for the padawans to move around. "We'll train here."

"Well it is hard to find something endearing that the other padawans share when most of their current activities involve hands, and I far excel all of them at any force based activity unfortunately. I usually just meditate around nature and reflect on the force and possibilities of it to pass the time." he listens to her speaking about her master and how the other jedi understood and liked her so liked her padawan. It seemed odd; not many jedi spoke of male masters nowadays, it got him wondering if females were naturally more attuned to the force and the mysteries of it. As they walked into the field he let his mind settle into training mode, preparing for whatever his master may instruct him to do; he nods "I am ready, master."

She was looking at him and stodo there in the field ready for them. Taking in the parts of it as most of the jedi around them were not here... Serana started moving her legs and stretched out a little at a time. "THis is good, make sure you are ready to train and not going to get cramped." She said it and moved around getting her equipment off of her back.. they were only going to need the essentials and could carry a lot more then others with the right distribution before she tucked her wings in and movedher head. "Come along padawan." She said it and took off for the trail going around the field to jog and exercise witht he other jedi. None of them were out but the two fo them could run around and practice their force skills moving some fot he fallen areas out of the way.

Taydo looked around again at the empty field, feeling the living force of all of the plantlife around them, it was something that comforted him, the presence of life, especially life that didn't require you to explain your existence or anything of the sort, it was the force at its purest and simplest, something that most of his kind were acutely aware of, it gave them such a philosophical streak having this connection. But now was time for training. He removed his staff from his back and laid it carefully on the ground before removing items from his bag, slinging his staff back afterwards before following his master around the field, running quietly after her, still somewhat shell shocked from who his master was.

She was looking at him and he seemed fairly surprised as the jedi master moved towards him and stood tall, regal as can be and let her mane whip around in the breeze. Tail swishing back and forth before she nudged him with her head and neck going to his. "Come on now, no time for distractions." SHe said it with a look that was close to a grin before starting to head off towards the area they would be able to run. First she was moving in a trot and then running comfortably where she could feel it. Her hooves kicking up a little dirt until the jedi master let the force energies move around her refreshing her body.
