Informing the Chancellor

Hanna, walked towards the office of Aurelia, She was curious of what to say. Hey, I am dating a Jedi master twice my age.. That would surely sound great, She was let in soon, and she walked in, looking at Aurelia, It was time for their weekly meeting, where they discussed strategy and the like. She wondered if maybe she knew already, she had a tendency to know about things before Hanna ever did.
" Morning Chancellor" She smiled taking a seat at her desk. She was curious to how this meeting would go. She sat there quietly.

"Ah, come in, Ms Lissiri," Aurelia said, giving nothing away. "I trust you have had a good week? Nothing of...interest to discuss?" she asked. Her face was blank, indifferent. The Chancellor's hands were folded in front of her and she watched carefully.

She smiled " Well, I had my life saved by my new boyfriend.. as my chief of staff tried to kill me. " She said, it had been tedious, she now had a new excutive assistant to help her work out a new schedule as she screened candidates for her new opening. It was a mess, and she couldn't wait till someone suitable applied as " I have since begun taking applicants for the position. " She said, it wasn't like she had that much to say.

"Ah yes, I had heard of this," Aurelia said. "A terrible tragedy, but I'm pleased that you're alright." The Chancellor paused, replay ing the conversation. "Boyfriend?" she asked, homing in on the word like a shark.
"I was given to understand you were assisted by a Jedi Master...."

"Yes, Jedi Master Kamon, I was on a date with him at the time.. he took me out for my birthday. We had met earlier that day, when I bumped into him as I left my office. He is very nice, the only one who even bothered to recognize the fact I turned 20 the other day." She said, still a bit sore that no one had known it was her birthday despite the fact she doubted many if anyone knew it was her birthday.

"I instructed my secretary to send you a card," Aurelia commented, as though she had done Hanna a great service! To her mind birthdays were frivolous ceremonies, and she didn't care if anyone knew when hers was. Dimly she perceived that other people felt differently, but Aurelia rarely thought of others except where they could help her.

"While it is not my business who you have a relation with, I am concerned that others might not be so generous. After all, they might point at the conflict of interest between your role, and that of the Jedi Master."

Hanna didn't get it.. they were in the same team she thought. She looked at her " Oh well I didn't get one... and I am a bit confused, What conflict of interest, we are on the same side. plus I will also perform my job to my fullest."

why did it matter? It was just a jedi.

Aurelia sighed. The girl was very young, very naive. Gods help the Republic if Aurelia ever died in office and Hanna took over. She might be a good leader one day, but for now...not so much.

"The Jedi and the Republic are on the same side, but they also want different things. This would be no different if you were dating an Admiral or General. It will come up in discussion, and you must be prepared to answer questions about it."

Hanna was confused no different than if she was dating an admiral or general. " What do you mean, they want different things, and of course I am willing to answer questions about it, I have no intention of hiding the fact, that would just create more intrigue. " She smiled, looking at the Chancellor, knowing that the woman most likey had more to say. " So, How was your week? " She tried to change the subject.

"My week has been just sublime," Aurelia commented dourly. She sounded extremely displeased still.

Finally it seemed she could take it no more. "The Jedi are with, but not part of the Republic. Their powers give them the ability to influence, often without it being known, people's perceptions and thoughts. You must be extremely careful that this Jedi does not see fit to influence you towards a more friendly stance towards his order. The Jedi are not democratic, and they are resistant to our laws. Take care."

" The Jedi saved my life, and have been active in the securing of hapan, the helping of the mandolorians and are even helping take Onderon, They are the Republic in my book, they have done several things towards making me see them in a friendly like. I am dating an individual, that happens to be a jedi. I would never use my postion to influence him, as he would never try to influence me. " She said, knowing that she was trying to point out things but she seemed to imply that Hanna was being manipulated which was not the case.
