- Storage medium: The InfiniChorus, at heart, is a storage medium. Utilizing the crystalline lattice and extensive research it is a special one. Rather than storage of simple data and information? It is capable of storing the entirety of what makes a sentient.... sentient. From personality to memories to everything in between. It stores this within itself and serves as a new method of survival and potentially transportation.
- Second chance: As long as the chip survives the person is capable of surviving even under the most gruesome of circumstances. As long as someone recovers the chip, it can be installed in a new host body and the operator will survive.
- Secure: The chips have been secured and reinforced with digital and physical barriers to make slicing, hacking or otherwise tempering with them very challenging. While possible, it will most likely corrupt the chip. It would be easier to just destroy it.
- Fragile: The chip by itself isn't extremely durable or anything of the sort. By itself a handful of blaster shots will make short work of it, making it impossible to recover the individual.
- EMP: EMPs can either temporarily or permanently disable the chips, if the blast was of sufficient strength or proximity.
- Assimilation: The initial implementation and the re-integration into new host bodies takes time. During this duration the chip and the host are very vulnerable, potentially more sensitive to slicing procedures as well.
The InfiniChorus was created as a solution to a problem.
Many of the high-end operators of the Company were functioning under dangerous (sometimes suicidal) circumstances. These situations often deprived the organization of talent. This was unacceptable in the long run. Cloning only worked up to a point (flash-training turned out to be insufficient, clone madness potentially debilitating), utilizing droids was ineffective. It took the labs of Arcadia some time to crack this frustrating puzzle.
Until they got their hands on Didact's crystalline lattice.
Its high-quality crystals solved the storage capacity issue.
The rest is history.
Now the InfiniChorus is used internally by the Company for its critical missions, but they have been known to sell the tech to external actors in the Galaxy. Mostly those that are either incredible rich, influential, powerful or a combination of the former. Arcadia didn't conquer death here. Instead it rearranged the calendar and told it the schedule has changed. Maybe it can return another day?
