SETTING INFORMATION

Structure Name: Industrial District

Classification: Industrial Complexes/Plants/Facilities

Location: Ord Biniir

Affiliation: Independent Owners (NPCs) on Ord Biniir

Accessibility: It is easily accessible, open to the public in some areas and closed to the public in others

Security: Each complex provides it's own private security force to keep citizens/people from wandering into restricted areas. With some of the complexes producing certain materials, more stringent policies are enforced regarding the accessibility of specific sections.

Description:

Sprawling like wild vines on the western end of the city, the industrial district has 13 major complexes and 6 minor complexes; each complex producing various types of materials. 3 of the major complexes work directly with the shipyards, producing two-thirds of the materials needed to build ships.

The complexes are heavily regulated in terms of pollution, to prevent the city becoming smog infested. The entire district takes up nearly 180 meters of city land. Each complex is independently owned.

The section of the city where these buildings sit became known as the Industrial District. The complexes produce several types of materials, goods, and wares. These industrial complexes bring in credits for both the city and planet through exports, and to alleviate the needs of the citizens by cutting down on the imports required.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Around 692 ABY, the first complex emerged in the city. Over the course of 29 years, the others began to crop up; which prompted the city officials to expand the city's land mass to accommodate the growing district. The companies only hire Ord Biniir citizens, to aid in balancing the cost of living in Dascoria City.

During both the Gulag outbreak and the Netherworld event, the complexes suffered greatly due to the lack of a labor force. Most of the owners were forced to take loans from the Banking Clans on Munnilist; but over time as the population grew and the need for materials in high demand throughout the galaxy, the owners were able to repay their loans but at a high rate of interest.

Today, the industrial district thrives, mainly because they are free to operate under their own rules and guidelines; for the exception of the regulations put upon them to prevent pollution. During the Clean Air Act imposed by the city's officials in 731 ABY, the factories are subjected to monthly inspections. Any company found producing over the percentage of pollution allowed are heavily fined and placed on a probationary period. If any company fails to rectify their pollution output after their probationary period ends, the city officials have the power to redact their licenses to operate within Dascoria City.

That should probably say "accessible."

Some more information here would be good. Are these just planetary law enforcement officers? Military? Private security?

I am assuming your important note is in reference to using the factories as supplies of material for Factory submissions, in which case they couldn't be either way. The companies you have outlined here are presently neither canon nor submitted to Factory and could not be use as a legitimate source.

I will have to ask you to remove your special note, however, because once a location has been submitted to the Codex it is open for the memberbase to use. Should a member, or even a faction, invade or take over the complexes and use them as locations for their own companies, that is their right to do so.
