The gardens of Snowpeak Sanctuary breathed in peaceful stillness. White stone paths wound between beds of pale blossoms, their petals cupped like hands holding morning light. Beyond them, the silver peaks of Eshan lay veiled in soft mist, their outlines shifting and reforming with every breath of wind.

Eve sat cross-legged in the grass, her palms resting lightly upon her knees, her eye closed. No effort pressed upon her posture; she was as a stone set in the current of the world, neither resisting nor grasping. Her breath came and went as if it belonged more to the garden than to her, threading with the murmur of leaves and the faint hush of distant snowmelt.

A few steps away, Isari lay curled, silver fur rising and falling with a rhythm of her own. The fox's eyes were shut, but not in sleep as others would know it. Her stillness carried the hush of a deeper listening, a meditation of creatures attuned by the ancient pulse of the earth.

The air was clear and cool, touched with the fragrance of stone warmed by sunlight. In this place, time did not move forward so much as ripple outward. Each moment was complete: breath, silence, light on the water of the fountain.

And in that completeness, Eve felt the faint stirring of her own presence within the greater flow, no longer the child she had been, not yet the Master she would one day become, but a being poised like the mountains themselves, listening, waiting, becoming.

Snowpeak Sanctuary

Silence had taken over the Sanctuary, and peace lingered on the snow-white marble floors, embracing anyone who passed by. It was Jane's new place to stay, her new home in between her many travels. So much had changed since she left Naboo the first time, and even more since she followed Everest away from Naboo the second time.

And she herself had changed too. In many ways, Jane remained her old self, the girl the man from Naboo rescued from the explosion and gave new life, despite the shell she was before. Yet, there were changes too. She had never had so many questions, curiosity, and doubts. The galaxy was not as black and white as she had first assumed.

Within that stillness of the Snowpeak Sanctuary and Jane's own introspect, her small boots carried her to the meditation garden. The cold wind brushed her bare arms, but never reached past the thick layers of scar tissue. White petals danced through the air as she waddled past them, at first unsure of where she was going. She was simply there to linger in the quiet, an escape from the chaos of the galaxy and rebellion. That was until she heard the familiar tune of Everest's melody. After seeing her several times, it was a song that had become a source of comfort. Soft and soothing like delicate silk, and warm as the first torch in a winter night. Not yet as bright as the stars, yet growing with every time they met.

Jane's doll-like head shifted toward the song, and her entire body followed suit. As she passed the white pillars, the sun washed over her facial plates, making the metal shimmer almost pearlescent.

The white-haired woman and the silver fox came into view, a beacon of tranquility. Jane's footsteps did not slow until she came to a stop right next to Everest, as usual, a little too close for comfort. Then she sunk through her legs, lowering herself onto the cold floor with her legs tucked together.

Jane spoke no word, her pitch black eyes fixed on the sky ahead while she listened to Everest and Isari's breathing, allowing the silence to linger for a second longer.

Long before the soft patter of boots reached the garden, Eve felt her approach, a familiar presence threading its way through the stone halls, like a candleflame carried carefully in the dark. The stillness of her meditation rippled softly, and a small smile curved across her lips as the presence drew nearer.

She didn't open her eye when Jane settled beside her. The closeness was characteristic, and Eve found no discomfort in it. Instead, she let the silence stretch, breathing it in, grateful for the simple fact that Jane was here. She could feel the calm radiating from her — fragile but present — and savoured it as one might the first warmth of spring.

At last, she spoke, her voice low and steady, carried by the rhythm of breath and garden wind.

"I'm glad you're here."

Still she didn't move, her posture as tranquil as the fox sleeping in the grass.

"How are you feeling, Jane? About everything? It seems that a lot has happened in such a short space of time, wouldn't you agree?"
