In Fields of Sorrow

“You’re a difficult woman to please, Mira.” As expected her nose wrinkled as the Jedi kissed it. There was always an air of innocence that played when Mira had alcohol. The girl was just that, a girl. A flirt even as she splashed and teased the Assassin. It was easy to forget how the world worked, where their roles fit and that only a day or so ago she had killed a man. Mira brought up an odd question and Fiore nodded and smiled towards the Jedi. “Of course I would hunt them down, I would gut them for ever laying eyes on you.” Chuckling softly, “You’re too beautiful to look at, but I am lucky that you let me have you.”

Fiore thought about leaving and washing up herself, but suddenly, the somewhat intoxicated and naked Mira made a grab at Fiore, bringing her attention back to her. Blinking at the request, she nodded. Mira offered her a chance to have something that she had dreamed about having back for so long. To have a piece of her that was taken from her so violently. Emotions started to take over as Fiore grabbed Mira’s face and kissed her.

“Sounds amazing, but for now you’ll have to settle for my attempts to bring you to this higher state of bliss.” Biting Mira’s lower lip slightly, she reached and pulled the naked girl from the tub and brought her into the hotel’s bedroom. Half tackling and half tossing her on the bed, Fiore pinned the Jedi’s damp frame against the bedding. Leaning down she ran her lips softly against the girl’s neck until she reached her ear, a nip on Mira’s earlobe and the assassin spoke so softly. “I’ve missed you so much.” [member="Mira Rekali"]

Mira giggled softly and returned the kiss before gently nudging Fiore back. “You’ll have to earn your prize.” As Fiore continued forward and assaulted her senses with kisses to her neck and ear, Mira giggled relentlessly. In turn, she would lean up and whisper back. “I know…” With a grin on her face, she pulled away from Fiore and began to kiss her relentlessly and with a gentle wave of her right hand – the lights would dim...
The Next Morning.....

Mira was rolled up in the blankets tighter than a spandex on a Hutt. Her hair concealed her face but didn’t conceal the light snoring that emanated from the small frame. Of course, Fiore had been successful in taking her to new heights the evening prior. When hadn’t she? The assassin had gotten good at putting Mira to bed properly – one would have to discover if she had been reading up on new material or not. An empty bottle of Corellian ale sat on the nightstand next to her. The night was long and the day would end up being short. It was needed considering the emotional duress that Mira suffered. An evening with just her and Fiore – away from all the turmoil. None of that mattered, not the Galaxy, not the war. None of it.

As of now though, Mira would slumber peacefully but hard as a piece of beskar ore.

Fiore had been studying rather intently on videos she could find on the holonet. She wanted to be the best at pleasing the Jedi because that’s what lovers did right? Fiore also managed her way to studying what love was and how to express it. It was why she was wandering the streets of the town looking for food. She continued to walk quickly searching every small store until she found one that had caf and bagels. Ordering a few times, she soon made her way back towards the hotel room. Hoping that she had arrived before Mira had woken up.

As she arrived at the door, she felt her comm start to vibrate. Nearly dropping the caf, she grabbed the comm and held it to her ear. The message was from one of her superiors wanting a report on the random lightsaber they had received. She expressed what had happen and they understood. As she waited for command to finish and let her go a name crossed over the line.

Mira Rekali

A long list of history about the Rekali Clan and what had happened at Roche was displayed to her. The Rekali Clan weren’t good at making friends and she was the only one besides Ember that was known by name. Her fingers pressed against the comm as she listened and then answered. “Understood.” Clicking the comm off she paused. Mira was meant to be her next hit, there was an internal battle waging inside of her. The loyalty to the people that took her in began its war with her loyalty and love for Mira. Taking a deep breath, she knew the answer to this.

Mira above everything was to remain alive - even if it meant betraying her handlers.

Slowly she opened the door and placed the goodies on the table. She moved silently like the assassin she was created to be and climbed on the bed and tucked herself under the blankets that Mira had stretched so comfortably over herself. A hand trailed up the Jedi’s stomach grasping at places that she knew would stir the girl. A nose brushed against Mira’s neck as Fiore pressed her own body against her. Her decision was correct, she loved this girl - she loved her more than the revenge she sought after and she would do anything for her…

Even try and touch the Force once more... [member="Mira Rekali"]

Mira snored lightly and then rustled as the felt the cool body of Fiore press against the rather warm from. She groaned softly and nudged her butt against Fiore, trying to push her back. “No, you’re cold – warm up first then cuddle.” She murmured under her breath before nestling further into the pillow, an arm escaping out from beneath the covers to fall over the side of the bed. Another groan escaped her as she tossed around a bit more, trying to find that warm spot once more.

Damnit if Fiore didn’t wake up slightly with her cold body. She was all cozy and warm, now she was fighting back the chills and trying to get comfortable again. A soft and subtle whimper came from her mouth as she whispered. “I just want five more minutes, please?” Was it so hard to ask for a little bit more time to sleep? To dream wonderful things? To be off in a land where nothing really bad felt like it could happen? Sure, there were nightmares but it wasn’t something Mira could say she experienced that often – not lately anyways. Whenever Fiore was around, she was comfortable and at peace. She was able to focus and sleep soundly. When Fiore wasn’t around – she found it somewhat difficult but not so much of a burden that it was deemed impossible.

“You really could have just…snuggled me through covers…” She said quietly, keeping her eyes closed. “My boobs are not that important to cup while you sleep – it’s not like they’re going to fall off, do I need to buy you something to grip and cuddle at night?”

Fiore smiled sheepishly as she was scolded by the sleepy Mira. She pulled her hands from under the Jedi’s shirt and fought back a chuckle. The girl wasn’t a morning person, but in the Assassin’s defense, the last time they woke up together – Mira had gotten up quite quickly and stormed off to bath in the river. Wasn’t much of an impression for her to go off of, but at least she knew now. Sliding her way back into the bed on her side, she brought her hands to her mouth and blew on them. It was all she could do to warm them up for the time being.

“The only thing I want to hold on to while I sleep is you, so even if you gave me something I’d still find a way to grab on to you.” Fiore tried to push aside the thoughts of the holocall for the time being. She would have to deal with that another time, hopefully she could throw them off Mira’s scent. If she did, she could protect her for another day. Sighing softly, she waited till her hands and body were warm from being under the blankets. She knew their time was limited, it always was. Despite how they felt, they were always in different worlds.

Doing her best to scoot over, Fiore pulled herself to Mira and kissed the girl’s forehead softly. “I grabbed us some breakfast for when you’ve decided it’s time to wake up.” Nuzzling the girl softly, Fiore allowed herself just a few more minutes of sleep. It was pleasant to feel safe, she didn’t fear the galaxy when she was with Mira – to be honest she felt invincible. Remembering the night before, Fiore did her best to hold Mira, imagining losing something like a parent sounded horrible. The least she could do was be there to comfort her lover. [member="Mira Rekali"]

Mira chuckled softly.

“I think breakfast will be cold by the time I crawl out of bed.” She muttered and shrugged lightly, snuggling her back against the warmth of Fiore. A sigh escaped her lips as her eyes fluttered open to stare at the contents of the nightstand beside her. The night prior had been a rough one, and one filled with lots of liquor and probably intimate relations between herself and the woman she had come to love – but Mira would have to come to terms with reality, her mother was gone. Sulking in bed all day and drinking herself into a stupor and then making love with Fiore wasn’t going to change things. As much as those things were great – it was reality.

Fiore did make things a bit easier to bare and cope with, however, she also made the cold, harsh reality a bit more known – love can be stripped away before one can bat an eyelash. Mira knew the dangers of attachment and with Fiore, it was no different. What would happen to her if she lost Fiore? Would she break down the same? Would the darkness return? What if she embraced it fully? The taste of the dark side was something bitter, yet welcoming. The burning rage comforted her when she felt the sweeping sorrow that was nauseating and overwhelming.

Was all of this natural? Is this how her grandfather felt?

She didn’t know the answers to the questions that burned through her mind. She hadn’t seen nor heard from either Ember or her father since the death of Aaralyn. For all she knew, they were on some crusade to purge the Republic from the Galaxy.

She would have to get up soon as it were – they were already a day behind for the trip to Ruusan.

[member="Fiore de Noir"]

Fiore shrugged. Cold breakfast wasn’t something that personally bothered her, half the time her breakfast sometimes wasn’t even cooked. Well before she joined the Templars or the Fire something that they were being called now. She remained in bed contemplating things, the holo call began to wear on her mind as she looked at the Jedi beside her. Loyalty was such a fickle thing in this day and age, would Mira eventually betray her? Would she eventually grow tired of the assassinations? Fiore wondered if one day she would end up killing a Jedi that Mira was close to, what would Mira do in the end?

There were too many questions floating in her mind and she didn’t have any of the answers. She wondered if her lover had any other visions beyond the one that she had seen prior to what occurred between them. Did the vision influence her actions? Once again another question that didn’t have an answer. Sighing softly, she sat up where she had been laying. “Are you feeling any better?” It was hard, she could only read from facial expressions nothing like when she was capable of feeling emotions. A hand ran through her brown hair as she sighed softly.

“We should take one more day here, give you time to rest. You’ve had one hell of a few days Mira. I don’t want you to worry about me and Ruusan.” [member="Mira Rekali"]

“No, we need to really get a move on. I’m ok now. Really, I am.” She nodded softly, sitting up in the bed and drawing the sheets up to her chest. Garnet eyes looked over at Fiore, a smile coming to her lips. “I promise, I’m ok now – I think I’ve cried all that I can cry.” A soft chuckle escaped her lips as her free hand gestured. “You’ve been great; I couldn’t have asked for more.”

The truth was, she couldn’t have asked for Fiore to do more than what she had done. The girl had stuck by her side and been a good sport about the whole ordeal. Mira knew she should have been able to handle the situation better, right? She knew there was always a possibility that Aaralyn would have died in combat but perhaps she was just naïve about it or even in denial that it would happen so soon. Maybe she wished somewhere in her mind and heart that her mother would have atleast been around to see the grandchildren be born? Marriage? Things like that. Silly notions? Were they?
Maybe.

Maybe not.

Mira was exactly who Aaralyn raised her to be.

Would Fiore expect anything less, or rather, different? Hell, would she want her any other way? Mira questioned these things at times, the thought lingering in her gaze as she looked away for a moment before turning back to her wayward assassin, the free hand coming up to brush her cheek gently. “You looked troubled. What’s up?” She could feel something off about Fiore, perhaps it was something to do with Mira or perhaps it was something to do with those damned Templars that Fiore ran with.

Mira would keep the attitude in check, atleast for now. They were a touchy subject as it were. For the sake of her sanity and that of Fiore – she would show no ill will or intention for what Fiore did but she would not support it openly. A true conflict for the Jedi Knight.

She felt her touch against her face, it burned like it always did. Every nerve in her body came back to life at the touch of the other girl, Fiore wondered if Mira knew the effect she had on her physically. There was something wrong, but Fiore didn’t know how to explain it. Telling Mira that she was the next hit on her list would just prove that the vision she had was true. That vision haunted Fiore, she wanted to do everything in her power for it to not come true, but it seemed more determined than ever to happen. It frustrated Fiore, it made her upset with the Force. Why did it constantly wish to take things from her?

Her chest was tight as she reached up and touched the back of Mira’s hand. Fingers laced slightly as she brought the hand down. “There’s several things bothering me, I can’t put words to them yet, but when I can I will tell you.” Her hand placed Mira’s in her lap as she reached forward towards the blankets that covered her lover from her view. Mira had ample time to wake up and Fiore wanted her to help her take the stress off her mind. If that vision was determined to come true, she wanted to make sure Mira knew that every ounce of the assassin loved her. Hands now warm pushed the Jedi onto her back as her legs moved and straddled the Jedi.

“All I want now is to make love to you Mira, I need to make sure that there is no doubt in your mind that I love you with every part of my soul.” Looking at her, she moved Mira’s hands above her head. A free hand undid the leather belt from around her waist and quickly used it to bind the girl’s hands together. The slack of the belt wound around the bed post and was held like a leash in Fiore’s hand. Leaning forward, she brushed her lips lightly against Mira’s nipping at her bottom lip. The hand tying was to prevent any protest against this. Not giving Mira another chance to speak or to protest against this, Fiore ran her free hand under the woman’s chin then grasped it in a gentle but firm hold. She kissed her hard and desperate…[member="Mira Rekali"]

Mira struggled playfully, resisting the binding of her wrists at first but then giving in once Fiore’s lips made contact with her own. Mira pressed back, opening her mouth ever so slightly, embracing her the woman she loved with a passionate kiss. Their tongues intertwined and touched, mouths closing to seal the desire and emotion that flowed heavily between their hearts and souls – but as emotion grew, so would memories of a darker time in the life of Mira. A time where she lived in darkness and solitude and binds around her wrist brought lashings and pain that wasn’t balanced out by sexual pleasure. Memories flashed as each kissed faded, a horrid scream – a surging hate rippled through her as her flesh was tore open by a whip. A young girl cowering in a corner of a dungeon, pleading for a merciless master to stop. Her facial expressions shifted as each memory slammed into her full force – assaulting her senses.

The resisting would return but this time it would become thrashing and full force pulling away and Mira would suddenly cry out…

“No!” She jerked at the restraints, garnet eyes glistening with tears of pain. “Let me go! Please!” She pulled away from Fiore as best she could and brought her mouth up to the belt and she would begin pull at it with her teeth. Like a rabid animal that was evading capture. Panic and fear was burning through her mind, no longer in the right frame of mind or the right state – no longer aware of where she was. Traumatized by events long since passed, memories she believed she buried long ago.

In reality, they were there all along.

[member="Fiore de Noir"]

Things were going smooth, but something happened. The thrashing and the begging to be let go caught Fiore off guard. This wasn’t playful like just a few moments ago, she could see the fear in Mira’s eyes and she quickly reacted, this was a terrible idea and Fiore silently cursed herself. “Hold on, I’ll cut it. Mira please!” The belt was easy to quickly release, she pulled it and tossed it aside. She climbed off the girl and did her best to comfort her quickly. The thrashing though was something she didn’t want to get to close to, remembering that Mira was a Jedi, she prepared herself to get hit with something Force influenced.

“Mira! They’re off. Please everything is okay, you’re safe I promise…you’re safe.” The assassin had no idea what to do in this situation, she didn’t expect for Mira to react this way. Something deep in her mind had ruptured and it was caused by what she did. Guilt washed over her as she watched seeing the pain that she had caused by doing something they had never done before. She couldn’t punish herself here, she needed to calm the girl down. Reaching out she attempted to pat the girl’s arm and shoulder, then if she could she would attempt to embrace her hoping that would help calm her and take her out of the memories that triggered the fit.

“Mira, please I’m so sorry…” [member="Mira Rekali"]

As soon as Fiore cut her free, Mira tried to escape the confines of the bed – despite the comfort of Fiore. She was elsewhere, in her mind atleast. The hands of Fiore would wrap about her shoulders and her voice would echo in her ears but Mira remained focused elsewhere. Memories flashing and fading, distant screams and voices yelling in her ears that caused them to ring violently. She curled up suddenly, knees coming to her chest with her arms coming to wrap about them tightly. Mira would fall over on her side, almost lifelessly save for the extreme tension throughout her form.

There would be minimal noise, save for a soft weep. The traumatic memories hitting her like a lightsaber through durasteel. Her eyes closed and her whispering began – as if she were trying to console herself. It wasn’t Fiore’s fault; it was something Fiore knew nothing of right? Had she ever told Fiore what had happened to her? Yes, on Hoth but she never told her how bad it was. She could only assume that Fiore would now know that it was more serious than she had ever led her to believe.

Mira would obviously feel embarrassed after – she had never exposed these emotions to anyone, not even her parents. Maybe it was because of her extremely strong emotional connection to Fiore.

One could only assume.

[member="Fiore de Noir"]

Fiore had no idea what to do, she watched helpless as Mira continued to experience her trauma. Her mind automatically for some reason attempted to summon the Force out of habit, wanting to help calm Mira down. Alas, she felt nothing and could see her attempts were hopeless. Fiore kept her distance, knowing that it was probably for the better no matter what her heart was telling her. The last thing that needed to happen was for Mira to freak out and this turn into a survival brawl. She waited and watched as the whispers started, taking this as a sign Fiore slowly began to move closer.

“M…Mira?” Fiore reached out slightly and pulled back. She was scared, and she could see the fear in Mira’s eyes. This was something beyond anything she had seen before. It took her a few moments, but the Assassin worked up the courage to try and snap the girl out of it. Crawling towards Mira slowly she tried to be as unthreatening as possible. Her voice remained soft as she reached out and ran her hands slowly on Mira’s shoulder. “Mira, please baby. You’re safe, no one is going to hurt you. Its me Fiore, I’m so sorry…please Mira snap out of it.” [member="Mira Rekali"]

The echoing sound of Fiore’s voice rang through the mind as Mira closed her eyes and tried to focus. She spoke softly, and in incoherent sentences. One moment wishing away the pain, the next asking for forgiveness and begging for mercy. None of it would make sense but for Mira, she was reliving one of the worst times of her life. A simple trigger really, one brought on by an emotional connection that was elevated beyond the norm. The memories would begin to subside and Mira would visibly relax, the whispering would stop but she would remain in a fetal position.

A few minutes would pass and Mira would say nothing, instead she uncurled herself and rolled over onto her side, tearing up and opening her eyes to stare into the furl of blankets before her. She felt the worried presence of Fiore behind her, touching her backside – attempting to soothe her. She said nothing to Fiore, instead she wept silently. What could she say? It wasn’t Fiore’s fault. It was an experience she hadn’t truly shared with her. It was something that was considered one of the darkest secrets in the mind of a girl who believed herself to be steeled and unbreakable.

A foolish notion obviously.

She was vulnerable more so than she realized.

Here she was, weeping over memories long since gone.

[member="Fiore de Noir"]

Watching Mira come down from where ever her mind had gone to, Fiore felt a bit safer. Sighing softly, she realized that there wasn’t going to be a fight and she wouldn’t have to try and wrestle Mira into calming down. She did that on her own and was now curled into the fetal position. Anger flared inside of Fiore, what had happened to Mira to cause this? Remembering their conversation when they first had met, she mentioned something about slavery, which made sense now with how she acted when she was bound and dominated. Anger turned to guilt as she should have remembered that comment.

Giving some space for a few more minutes, Fiore racked her brain to hopefully get more information out of Mira about what had happened. She was an assassin and if it meant that she would have to scour the galaxy to find the person or persons that had harmed Mira she would do so. Screw her revenge, screw her handler and the missions she was given, Mira’s safety was her main priority.

Moving closer, she laid her body against Mira. Arms moved around the girl pulling her close, but not so much to restrain her. Fiore placed her face between the girl’s shoulder blades and inhaled deeply. Closing her eyes she let silence wash over them, Mira knew she was safe and Fiore would do everything in her power, even if it meant she wouldn’t see tomorrow, she would keep Mira safe from all her demons. [member="Mira Rekali"]

Mira sighed softly.

She didn’t have anything to say, atleast not at the moment.

The sensation of Fiore pressed against her was comforting – atleast for the moment. She allowed the arms to wrap about her form, to be encompassed by her warmth. Mira’s lips turned up in a soft smile, trying her best to quell the fear and anger that swept Fiore by storm. She could feel the rippling tension through the Force. Fiore was bristling with curiosity no doubt, that much was clear.
Mira figured she didn’t expect anywhere near that much of a response from a mere sexual game.

A sigh escaped her lips as she wrapped her own arms around that of Fiore’s and clutched tightly. With a hoarse voice, she spoke. “We need to get going soon…”

That was the truth, Ruusan was quite a trip and they had alot to discuss and well, make up for. Mira owed Fiore for that and she was probably going to pay for it one way or another - in a good way.

[member="Fiore de Noir"]

The smile given by Mira was something she needed. There needed to be some sort of reassurance for her. Everything that just happened threw her through a loop, at times she wondered if she had destroyed something that they had. There was a fear that lingered inside of her, one that she dared not speak or think about. She feared the vision and she feared that one day she would lose Mira – the girl was all she had, she was the reason she was human. Before Mira, she focused only on her mission for revenge, she thirsted for the blood of the Sith and Jedi alike. Though with Mira, she showed the Assassin something more – something more about life.

“We need to get there. I want to make sure you’re alright though. I won’t do that again, I won’t hurt you like that Mira.” Biting her lower lip she nodded and pulled herself out of the bed and began to gather her things along with Mira’s. The least she could do is help with the packing. Remembering breakfast she frowned and shook her head. “Breakfast is cold.” There would be a moment to catch something on the way out most likely.

Glancing upward, she stared at Mira for a second. “I love you and whatever and who ever hurt you. I’ll kill them.” To Fiore that was her being comforting, but she would have to soon figure out other ways to comfort the girl she loved. Death seemed to be the only just punishment for anyone or anything that harmed Mira. Without Mira, she wasn’t anything more than a pet Assassin to the Templars. Seeing this as an opportunity, she crawled onto the bed and kissed the Jedi’s forehead. “Let’s go to Ruusan.” She pulled back and sat on her legs with her hand held out. [member="Mira Rekali"]

Mira said nothing, only gave Fiore a nod before unfurling herself and pulling away from the comforting confines of her lover’s embrace. A sigh escaped her lips as she would spend the next twenty minutes or so dwelling upon her actions and memories of a past life that still seemed to haunt her. As the time passed, the memories would fade and Mira would come to act as if nothing happened – doing her best to put on another face and stow the memories deep within.

For her, it was what was best and what was needed. For the woman she loved – it might be what was best as well. Mira didn’t desire for Fiore to dwell on what was or what could have been, she needed her to focus and be ready for the difficult task ahead. The trip to Ruusan wouldn’t be the problem – but the actual events upon Ruusan would be a whole different story.

One could say it would make or break the path to redemption, even the path to a successful relationship between the pair. As Mira walked along with those thoughts in mind, she occasionally glanced at Fiore – wondering if the girl had any clue as to what she was getting herself into. Did she understand commitment as much as Mira did? Did she know that with the words that they expressed, the passion and desire that was physically and emotionally displayed for each other – everything that was given – that Mira has committed herself to this singular being?

Probably.

Maybe.

Hopefully.

Mira shook the thoughts out of her head and continued on towards the starport. Silly thoughts and notions continued to hammer away at her, as they most likely would for the entirety of the trip to Ruusan.
