  • Dorsal Airlock
  • Ventral Airlock (mag clamp, plasma torches)

Strengths:
  • Assault: Armed for shock and awe, the transport excels at creating entrances where there are none.
  • Armor: The heavy plating on the transports gives them high survivability, even if their shields fail.
Weaknesses:
  • Coverage: Possessing solely fixed weaponry, the DX-10 will have difficulty repelling any fighter that gets on its rear.
  • Hyperdrive: The lack of hyperdrive leaves these transports reliant on a mothership for long distance travel and resupply.
Description:

The DX-10 assault transport excels in space boarding actions. With four hatches and two airlocks, the DX-10 offers its troop complement a large variety of options for egress from the transport, thereby eliminating the "bottling" effect common in First Order Atmospheric Assault Landers (where a single competent sniper can pick off an entire squad as they exit through the lander's only exit).

However, the preferred tactic for boarding enemy vessels is to use the ventral airlock's mag clamps to latch onto the hull of an enemy warship, then have the plasma torches mounted on the airlock cut straight through the hull in the same manner as the Katarn-class boarding shuttles.

This transport is part of the 7th Fleet Initiative, which aims to furnish the Galactic Empire with a series of modern, combat ready transports to better protect Imperial interests.
