Core Imperial Confederation Order of Battle

Within this thread, you will find a chart guide on how the Imperial Military is structured and how its’ units are organised. I should note that all numbers for troops provided are using Infantry units for the sake of example and that the numbers of Troops in any individual unit can vary wildly depending on whether it’s an Armour, Artillery, Infantry or Combat Support, or Combat Service Support Unit etc.

All personnel within the Imperial Confederation's Military are issued a serial number formatted as AA-##/####.

Army

The Imperial Army and its’ part-time reserve component is apart of the administrative “Imperial Defence Force” the part of the Imperial Military responsible for terrestrial Defence, largely they are a garrison force although on occasion they are expected to support the expeditionary forces of the Imperial Expeditionary Force such as the Stormtrooper Corps or Navy where necessary. Army Units are larger than their Stormtrooper counterparts as they are not nearly as restricted by ship storage volume given their defensive rather than offensive nature. The Army additionally fields an aviation wing and their own Pilots who operate atmospheric and exoatmospheric craft

Stormtrooper Corps

With an honoured and long history the Stormtrooper Corps is the primary terrestrial fighting force of the Core Imperial Confederation and along with the Navy makes up part of the “Imperial Expeditionary Forces” journeying out into space to fight wars. The Stormtrooper Corps are ubiquitous on Navy Warships and Installations, where they additionally provide security services. The Stormtrooper Corps is an aggressive, highly-trained and mobile tactical force and this is reflected in their more modest unit sizes when compared to the Army.

No Military that carried the name “Imperial” in the history of the Galaxy would be sufficiently complete without a burgeoning and terrifyingly formidable Navy. The Core Imperial Confederation is no different and contains a massive number of Warships and a dedicated Branch of Pilots who operate sub-capital fighter-sized craft referred to as the “Starfighter Corps”. The Lines are given as minimum and maximum extremes, operational demands may demand mixed formations.

Starfighter Corps (Imperial Navy)

The Core Imperial Confederation’s Starfighter Corps is a branch of the Imperial Navy dedicated to operating small craft within the Imperial Expeditionary Force such as Fighters, Bombers, Shuttles and Transports. Its’ members use Navy Ranks with all of its’ members largely being Junior ‘Field-Grade’ level officers.
