Description: The Illustrious-classis the last of the Judicator-class variants engineered by Aurora Industries. It was designed for the purpose of support cruiser, offering anti-fighter and anti-projectile as well as close ranged fire support and fighter support. The main hanger is recessed in the Dorsal hull of the vessel taking up nearly a quarter of the ships length. This Hanger houses the a small compliment of attack craft which the Illustrious-class supports with its various weapon systems. It is also capable of housing small freighters or diplomatic transports if needed. A small ventral hanger near amidships houses the support shuttles and the compliment of gunships.

Hey bud, for future reference you can only have 3 submissions in each section of the Factory at a time. Once a submission is approved by the Admin or RPJ and moved to the Approved Section you can submit new ones.

Until your others are situated I am going to archive this one. Just PM an RPJ or the Factory Admin with the Link to have it pulled back out.

As I can not edit this now that it has been put back, I need to somehow get the Electromagnetic shield, Optical shield, and the Magnetoravitic shield taken off as they are stealth systems.

So Max for Cruisers normally is 3 Squadrons. Just Squadrons, you don't have to determine the number of fighters out anymore.

And yes, please remove those stealth systems or drop production to minor and add a 20 Post Development Thread. (10 Posts for Limited)

I used The Gun Count Tradeoff reference sheet when I did this. I thought a support variant heavy cruiser was allowed 96 fighter/bombers, 8 gunships, 16 dropships. Has this changed?

Yeah, there are some differences between 2.0 and 3.0 templates, though some ships have overcome these Maximums through development.

Given the low speed, relatively low weapons, I can see this having 4 Squadrons. However if you would like more, there will need to be development behind it.

How are we supposed to develop Carrier vessels? A dedicated carrier at 750 meters is only allowed 4 squadrons? I don't mind doing the work and the development but for future reference what scale am I supposed to use for designing vessels? If that table is not applicable it needs to be taken off or at lease noted that it is not a viable scale for reference.

Where do I find the rules for vessel creation in the 3.0 system?

OK I changed the role of this from a carrier to a support cruiser. Took the fighter compliment down to 3 squadrons (36), added a second gunship squadron (6) more gunships, added close support turbolasers and ion cannons

Hangar: (Please provide the amount of fighters this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of Special Features should be. This submission's Max Squadron Count: 3. Optionally, feel free to provide a list of names for your squadrons, like the notorious Red Squadron. Alternatively, you may swap squadrons for Vehicles or other items of note.)

Based on the low weaponry, speed, 4 Total Squadrons is the most I can see without seeing some form of Development.

Both of these are heavily armed for their size while this is not, so depending on how many squadrons you wanted you may not need as much development.

I have made the hanger capacity 1 squadrons of fighters and 1 squadron of gunships. when counting squadrons are we supposed to count all or fighter in the 3 squadron cap? does this include shuttles. drop ships, and gunships?

Also I upgraded the weapons accordingly so it fits the heavy cruiser scale for weapons. As per the 2.0 scale, which is all i have to go from. I am +14 capital guns -40 warhead launchers, and +18 defensive guns.

As I have no idea what scale corresponds to the 3.0 system it is very difficult for me to gauge the design aspects of this. My goal is to take into account the mid level of the size category and not max out the weapons available.

I am told in 3.0 more weapons are acceptable where as fighter count is lower. So going from that I have put the weapons count at the top end of the 2.0 scale swapping out warhead launchers for a mix of short ranged offensive and defensive guns.
