Intent: To create a powerful alternate point defense weapon system comparable to laser cannon batteries
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Imperium Forge Works
Model: IFWT 101-L Light Pulsar Cannon
Affiliation: Open Market
Modularity: None
Production: Mass
Material:
*Alusteel
Classification: Starship and Vehicle mounted
Size: Vehicle main gun and Starship Defensive mount (Counts as 4 quadlasers)
Length: 3 meters
Weight: 5 tons
Ammunition Type: Starship Reactor, Vehicle Power Core
Ammunition Capacity: Energy
Effective Range: Standard Laser Range
Rate of Fire: once a second
Special Features:
* Kinetic and Heat Damage
* Pulsed Multi-Strike beams

Strengths:
High rate of fire - the IFWT 101-a fires a constant barrage of multiple bolts per pulse beam

Weaknesses:
Large, Expensive, Power Draw - because of its design each affixed IFWT 101-a barrel counts as 4 quadlasers for exchange

Description: The IFWT 101-a Pulsar Cannon is a hybrid Neutron/Particle beam weapon which utilizes a fusion reaction of charged Neutrons. Neutrons are feed into two charging chambers. Each chamber is feed power which energized Electrical coiling causing a strong magnetic field to accelerate the neutrons to near light speed. When the two masses of charged neutrons become too great to contain they are ejected into a hardened cyclone chamber where the two fields collide and create a fusion reactions of eminse power. This powerful reaction is compressed to produce a mass of destructive energy comprised of neutrons, x-rays and neutron particles. This unimaginable energy is then channeled through a series of projection matrix regulators where each of the weapons four projectors are then subjected to an unbalanced systems which modulates the weapons output to a programmable frequency. This affects the timing of the beams and how they impact the target. The unbalanced beams are then released through the four muzzles rails. All four beams then strike a target in a stuttered pattern This pattern can be modulated and set to change its modulation to counter any time of advanced modulated shielding.

While not as powerful as a single beam could be the effect of the compressed multi beam configuration presents a barrage of multiple strikes against a target. Each beam hits as anindividual strike and a sum of all four beams. The result is a weapon as powerful as four standard weapons. These beams stirke out pulsing a constant flurry of multi hit strikes in rapid succesion presenting a formidable volley of both kinttic energy from the neutron particles and heat energy from the x-rays and protons

The inspiration for this weapon comes from both the BSG and BFG weapons which are recreated within the star wars universe.

To clarify, we're talking about 4 "defensive guns" on the exchange chart? I think the quad laser cannon comparison is good to include as well if this is going to be mounted on vehicles, but I'd like to see the "counts as 4 lasers" changed to something like "counts as 4 quad laser cannons" for consistency.

Conceptually, particle cannons and various methods to split up weaponized energy beams are pretty well established in canon, so I don't see much issue there.
