SPECIAL FEATURES
DESCRIPTION
The standard kit worn by members of the Iron Legion is far from high technology. Designed with their home of Ilum and the many worlds of the Iron Empire that feature extremes of climate (Csilla, Olstyn, etc), the tunic and cloak were designed with thermal retention in mind. Due to the frequency with which the Iron Legion encounter traditional threats, such as pirates or Mandalorian rebels, the armor properties were designed with a non-Force User in mind. The flex-armor tunic functioned as a blast vest, providing excellent protection against blaster bolts and slugthrower strikes directed at the core or torso.

The coloration of the fur adorning the mantle of the cloak identified the wearer's standing within the Iron Legion's ranks. Apprentices wore a brown, sable-colored fur, while those who had achieved recognition among their peers as knights wore a charcoal or heather gray-colored fur. The knight-commanders of their order wore solid or mostly black fur to distinguish themselves.

Because of the Iron Legion's home on Ilum, where the Iron Legion ordinarily trains, cold climates were envisioned as the ordinary condition of wear. The thermal retention properties of the tunic and cloak are incompatible with warm, humid, or extremely hot climates. Wear of the IF/IL-A01B in those conditions is not advised.

Strengths:
  • Allows for wide range of movement.
  • Protects against range of plasma and kinetic-based attacks.
  • Excellent thermal retention.
Weaknesses:
  • Light Armor: Can only take a small amount of damage.
  • Does not protect against lightsaber strikes, EMP/Ion-based energy strikes (including Force Lightning), or Sonic-based damage.
  • Limited area of protection (core/upper body). No head or leg protection.
  • Designed for Temperate to Cold climates. Use in tropical or hot climates will result in the wearer experiencing heat stress.
  • No breathing support. No air filtration. No protection against toxins, inhalants, or aerosol pollutants/poisons.

Seems like a well rounded piece designed to be practical. There doesn't seem anything I can find amiss. Weaknesses balance the submission nicely.

Awesome. Pending Admin Approval. Thanks! [member="Cira"]
