- Modifications
Instead of using gunpowder, and excessive amounts of casings, the bullets are actually pellets housed within a magazine with a separate energy cell used to fire the weapon. Once the weapon is fired, the bolt will slide backwards due to the recoil, and insert anther round into the chamber. The bolt can be on either left or right sides, and features a hatchless chamber. Meaning that almost all energy spent to fire the round is used in the propulsion of the pellet.
Modifications can range from a forearm grip, flashlight/laser combination, holoimaging sights, or a foldable stock to allow easier storage, or to reduce the weight of the weapon even more. All modifications can be put on at the same time.
Strengths:
- Fastest rate of fire possible.
- Lightweight rifle used for close quarters such as clearing rooms, or close battlefield engagements.
- "Bullets" are lighter, smaller pellets that are fired using an energy cell instead of blackpowder, or gunpowder. Reducing cost of ammo, and allow for the weapon to be much lighter than other smg types. (Pellets represented around the size of a .22 long Rifle shell.)
- Recoil will ruin precise aiming. Recommended burst fire for longer range engagements, or spray and pray at close range.
- Lighter, smaller rounds allow for easier penetration of fleshy targets, but can barely pass through light armors, and maybe dent plated armor. Medium and Heavy armors resist most damage from the weapon.
- Requires an energy cell like a blaster, thus requires more reloading than necessary. Separate powercell is housed on the side and popped out when depleted to be replaced.
- Utilizing an energy cell in the form of a powerpack like use, The weapon is susceptible to Ion, and EMP attacks. Ranging from jamming up for a minute, to a complete shutdown of the weapon.
A weapon created for small forces, Police forces, or even the military should it be warranted. With several modifications being available for each soldier to use. The "Stock" weapon comes with a forearm grip to help with stability of the weapon should the user have sustained firefights. Any extra attachments are dependent upon the user.
Much lighter than the IE-1 Grand Assault Rifle, and considerably lighter than other SMG's on the market, The weapon is mostly used by policing forces within the Empire to allow close range engagements, or have a high rate of fire weapon for suppressive fire. The Military are known to have soldiers use these weapons when on formal business as guards to the Royal family, or for guards stations around grounds. However, from time to time, one can see these being used actively in the field outside of its normal habitat, albeit rarely.
Using An energy cell for decreased energy consumption, and being cost effective to allow the energy cells to be swapped out from other various weapons allows for the users to "share" energy cells, and prevent magazines from being large, cumbersome, or even heavy to the smaller species of the galaxy. However, this causes the weapon to have higher recoil coupled with a very impressive rate of fire.
Due to the use of pellets instead of full shelled ammunition, the weapon is mostly used in areas where fleshy targets are much more prominent, as armors ranging from a standard medium armored enemy can resist most if not all damage from the pellets. Even more so with Heavy armor.
However, the smaller pellets mean its much easier for penetration into fleshy targets, or even fit between the cracks of armor. Less surface area of the entering pellet requires less force to do the same, if not more damage than other slugthrowers.
