Prophet of Bogan
Taul was a harsh world. The world was highly acidic, to the point that lakes and rivers of corrosive fluid dominated much of the surface and offered little advantage to any who would dare settle near them. The sparse population of the world had been made hardy and intense due to the horrid conditions of Taul, sporting a defiant nature that was bent on their own survival and betterment above all else. Even after the Sith Order conquered the world and destroyed the initial resistance to their rule, the locals weren't keen on simply lying back and accepting the Sith as their new masters.
For the past few weeks what had initially been thought to be hit and run attacks from passing pirates or local gang activity was revealed to actually be part of a wider and more organized resistance cell on Taul, with the group operating out of a defunct base from the time of the Galactic Civil War. So naturally a force had to be dispatched to put them down, and as such the Inquisition was called upon to do the job. Mainly because there were some concerns of the old base potentially having some connection to Jedi in one form or another, which was still up for debate. Either way Darth Strosius found himself glaring at the base from his spot at the forward command position, the base being largely embedded into the side of a small cliff while sloping hills before it provided easily defensible positions that had thus far made a direct assault fairly risky.
Normally he would have started making preparations for some sort of flanking assault, ideally using the cliff to their advantage and advancing along it until they were practically right on top of the enemy position, but a communication had stopped such preparations. Someone had arrived in orbit with a few transports and had promised him that they were bringing a capable force which could storm the base and bring the resistance to heel in no time at all. So he decided to humor the request, signaling for the petitioner to make a landing at the command post so that the arrangements and planning for the assault could be done. He could only hope that these troops were worth the time of day.
