Ice Ice Baby

The Rebel Outcast slipped through the void of space towards Lianna, star light dancing across the metallic sheen of its wings and glistening beyond the canopy. Its sassy redhead captain sat lounging in the pilot's seat, feet kicked up onto the dash and leaning back in the comfortable chair. For now it was an easy trip, just go pick up her other passenger which didn't require any fancy flying on her part. That would all come later.

Her other passenger, Laira's twin brother Theo, was aboard somewhere. When she had first laid eyes on a Jedi Lightsaber, Laira had been fascinated with it. More than that, she had instantly desired one of her own and sought to find the parts and of course the crystal to construct one. To her, the Lightsaber was so much more than a potent weapon, but an iconic symbol of so much history and legends that had shaped the galaxy into what it had become. Luckily for the princess, Joza seemed somewhat willing to help her along with hunting down a proper kyber crystal. What Joza didn't know was that Laira wanted to share that experience with her brother, especially considering how many milestones they had missed since school and wanderlust had separated them.

The flame-maned princess flicked the switch for the ship-board intercomm, broadcasting her voice to every room in the ship, "Alright Theo, Joza doesn't know who I really am, and while I'm not gonna work too hard to keep it secret let's not blurt it out too brazenly." Laira considered Joza to be a friendly figure, perhaps not all the way to friend at the moment, in her life and a positive role model for the most part. But, slapping her in the face with 'oh yeah, I've been lying to you the whole time' probably wasn't the best way to take their relationship from friendly to friends.

"Oh yeah, buckle up for landing." A mischeivous grin danced across her features, the control stick just a few inches away from her hand. She could jerk it, given a moment to get her feet of the dash, and send her younger brother sprawling. It was a thought.

“….and make sure that he doesn’t fill up too much on snacks. He’ll pretend that he’s not hungry then he’ll turn around and eat half a box of crackers.”

Joza instructed the babysitter, who’d heard this laundry list over a dozen times. The Zeltron was currently getting the toddler out of his crib after a good nap, glad that he’d managed to wake up before she’d left. She cooed at the sleepy baby, kissing his face and bouncing him in his arms. Alan wasn’t really sure what was going on and didn’t care a whole lot. He smiled on occasion when his mother kissed him but otherwise still looked a little groggy.

The babysitter only gave Joza a tight smile, nodding obediently. The blue skinned Twi’lek was one of her dancers and had been watching little Alan for quite some time when is mother was away. While Joza trusted her to look after the child, she was paranoid and felt the need to go over the rules every single time while the babysitter just played along.

“Are you going to be good for Nyria while mommy is away?” Cooing in sing-song voice, she kissed the toddler on the cheek and sighed. It had been a long time since she’d guided a young soul on their interaction with the Force and she didn’t think herself the best teacher for that sort of thing. Quite a few learned on their own, but Joza had been taught the peaceful way of the Jedi. While she didn’t call herself one anymore and had distanced herself from the Jedi Orders, she still held decent ties with them and helped out at times.

Teaching, to her, was something that was done in a temple or a training room. Learning on the fly was nothing new to her, but teaching that way was.

She just really didn’t want to screw this up for Laira.
