IAS Smart Rifle

Description: The IAS smart rifle was designed for the sole purpose of placing a reliable slug thrower into the hands of the imperial military capable of sending information to the users HUD on everything to the weapons structural integrity, temperature, and even the type of round being fired and how much of them are left in the clip itself. The weapon runs on the Phalanx Battle System and can not be fired until the user switches the weapon off of safe through his or hers personnel operating system. Once turned off safe the weapon is free to fire, since the weapon is electric the user has to try and keep the temperature of the weapon down as to not fry the rifle's droid components. That being said the weapons droid components are powered by electricity leaving them vulnerable to an EMP. When the rifle's electrical components are down the weapon system simply runs on the gas power to send rounds down range, while the weapon will no longer be able to send data to its user. And as it is automatic rifle overheating can become a problem when fired at a cyclic rate.
