Santhe Corporation HeadQuarters...

Cade Lee sat alone in the waiting area, his attendants were in the next room. A few Mirari security droids stood near the seated man as he fiddled with the data disk in his hands. Light reflected off his lenses, hiding his impossibly blue eyes. Mr. Lee's slumped shoulders screamed the opposite of power hungry CEO of Blas-Tech Industries. The only thing that stood out about the unassuming man was a ring on his right hand, but Cade didn't show it off. Whatever it's true purpose was, or meaning, was utterly unknown to even those who considered him a good friend. Aloof and always in his head, he was presently mouthing words to the presentation that he would personally be giving. This wasn't something he trusted anyone on the board, or a representative to handle. Blas-Tech's future growth hinged on this project.

Mr. Lee would personally see this to success.

@Cade Lee

The CEO of Blas-Tech had requested an appointment with me, something about a presentation for a new project. I get requests like those by the hundreds a day, but this was something different. Blas-Tech doesn’t just come knocking for a run-in-the-mill project any day, so I had my secretary fix up a meeting. Coincidentally, that was today, more specifically.. in about four or five minutes.

I stood in front of the gigantic window in my office, and studied the skyline of Lianna. It sure was something. I could sit here all day and marvel on about the beauty and majesty of this place. But that ain’t why we are here, so I cut it short and called out to Dorothy.
Telling her to go and see if Lee was here already, and if so to escort him my office.

Depending on how things would go today, there might be a new relationship between two giants in the biz.

That ain’t a trivial matter.

Let’s see how it goes.

"Mr Lee, he's ready for you." Came a serene, calming voice. It was obvious this woman was paid to help run things when the CEO wasn't around, Cade had one of those himself. "Why thank you." Mr. Lee rose to his feet and straightened out his suit before starting to follow her to the head man's office. The Blas-Tech entourage rose as one with their boss, and Cade simply motioned for them to sit down. "I can handle this myself, stay here." They all nodded as he turned and followed the secretary finally down some elaborate, and interestingly decorated hallways. The short walk was over with, and she pointed him at the large, automatic doors ahead of him. "Right that way Mr. Lee, and we thank you for coming personally." With a curt nod she turned and headed back to her station, leaving the CEO of Blas-Tech industries alone to mentally prepare for his presentation.

No time like right now Cade, he thought to himself.

Confidently walking into the room, Cade waved before sitting down and putting the small holoprojector down. An image of a large satellite popped up, and Cade simply sat there for a moment. "How do you feel about getting insanely rich and changing planetary defense?"

I had been expecting something else to be honest. Someone else. Cade Lee did not look like much, didn’t look like the CEO of a gigantic corporation based off bloodshed and death. Then again, looks are deceiving, maybe he is some kind of Sith Lord in disguise. I suppressed a smile at that thought, now that would have been something.

What I could respect though was a man who cuts right through the crap and goes straight through business. Was going to offer him a drink, exchange pleasantries. But this is a nice change of business.

As he asked me the million credit question, I tilted my head slightly. Then I gave him a short smile.

“I feel a sudden interesting coming up in me. Go on, mister Lee.”

“I feel a sudden interesting coming up in me. Go on, mister Lee.”

Nodding, the projection grew to take up the entire desk. "It's simple Mr. Omvar, I'm wanting to change the way governments defend their worlds." At that a Hyperion Rifle was pulled up as well, sitting side-by-side with the schematics. "You see how this uses focused energy blasts to cut through anything, be it soft targets or hard targets if they are on their target long enough?" A video of the blaster tearing through simple armor and tank plating was shown, as well as various statistics for the weapon's performance. "As you can see, I developed this myself by not looking at contemporary weapons across the galaxy. I instead pulled from a source few have sought inspiration from because they were too afraid to do it." Another holo appeared, this time of the ancient Death Star itself. Cade let the image just sit there for a moment before pressing on. "I have no desire to make a superweapon, but I did miniaturize the technology, and now I'm going to make it bigger."

Before Omvar could say anything, he raised a hand to stop him.

"I'm not making a superweapon, instead I want to make small satellite arrays with a few hyperion type turbo-lasers on them. I"m in the process of making the technology bigger, and I need your company to help me make something to support these." Another video played, it was an animation of the prototype demolishing a ten block radius in one shot. "Imagine if you could destroy a terrorist bunker in one shot if you're the ruler of a world?" Then it shifted as the satellite pointed towards the stars towards an asteroid. "Or if you averted natural disaster?" The satellite fired again, and the asteroid was destroyed. "Feth, you could even point it at an incoming fleet and have a few of these open a deadly barrage to try and save your world." Cade slowed down, and leaned back in his seat.

"Well, what do you think?"

@Cade Lee

In all honesty, I hadn’t been about to say anything. But I allowed him the theatric, such was the way of doing a presentation to convince someone that your idea was in fact a good one. And not some blatant rip-off, or unprofitable. He was doing a remarkable job to be honest, confident in his plan and at least he wasn’t stammering about like a fool.

Just as I thought, looks were deceiving always. I continued to listen, Lee’s idea was an interesting one. I had been looking at the Death Star myself, schematics had found their way into my hands. Only reason why I wasn’t trying to produce one myself was the gigantic costs and the PR problems.

I mean, do you know how expensive it is to manufacture a big round object which produces a laser strong enough to destroy a whole fething planet? Yeah. Very expensive, and the profit margin is ridiculously small.

Though that had more to do with the fact that I couldn’t just produce five or six of ‘em and sell one to each nation in the Galaxy. Now.. that would have been a sight.

‘I think your idea holds a lot of merit, and it deserves a lot of attention. Tell me, why me? Why not go to Silk Holdings, KDY maybe? I’d mention Subach, but they ain’t much of a company these days.” I added that last part with a small wolfish grin. I am a bastard, I know. Sue me.

“I am just curious, why Santhe from all the companies?”

Cade merely sat there and listened, his keen mind already working just as fast as his bolts hit their targets. "You've asked some darn good questions, and for that I'll give you some darn good answers." The meek man leaned forward, but he suddenly didn't look so meek. Yes, the suit was loose, but his shoulders had finally set back and he wasn't hunched over. Whatever had caused him to slouch had left him, and his back was ram-rod straight as that nervous stare became very calculated. "I used Subach as an extra set of eyes on the composite arrays just because their head has delusions of glory. She took the investment I gave her struggling company, so I doubt they are struggling too much now." It hadn't been the greatest idea of his, but it did allow him to launder some money he had gotten while getting a mad scientist to look at what had to be his wildest project to date. "KDY is so tied with the Republic I had to pass on asking, I need someone who will do business with anyone. If you get caught up in morals, you don't increase your profit margins and you end up falling to the way-side. No specific nation will dictate to me what my company can and can't do, I will press on regardless of others." Mr. Lee's grin was leaving his face as it grew deadly serious.

"Silk doesn't share that same vision, though I do use them for transportation of my goods. So why worry about if I talked to the competition, I'm here talking to you now aren't I?" Cade was being as honest as he possibly could, and while he was on that thought he pulled the ring off his right hand....

...and the rush of the darkside of the Force hit him like a speeder in top gear. The man's eyes stayed closed for but a moment as he became the axis of the universe while keeping his power levels suppressed. No one need know that one of the most powerful darksiders was sitting in a meeting discussing composite beam lasers. A few slow breaths were all he needed. With a subtle wave of his finger all blinds in the office closed, and every security camera in the room bent uncomfortably away from the direction of the two men talking. More groaning could be heard as dark tendrils went out and crushed all the cameras and their microphones, once that was done he opened his eyes and looked at the man across from the table. Except those weren't blue eyes staring at him, they were yellow and red with the corruption of the darkside. That meek face was hardened, and Cade looked like the true enforcer that he was.

"I came here because Rave Merrill sent me, and this business needs to happen. Not only now, but later in the Tion sector."

Looks can be deceiving, just as I had thought to myself a few minutes ago. My face didn’t show any surprise, another pair of cold blue eyes stared right back I ain’t a fan of being surprised, but at this point there was little I could do about it.

Besides, he just dropped Rave’s name as if it was a coin at a candy shop, names like that have values and Rave’s.. well it carried weight. If he said Rave sent him.. well he isn’t lying.

Only fools use Rave’s name lightly, that’s a truth for you.

So I nodded curtly.

“Me and Rave have an understand. If she sent you.. well, let’s just say my interest has multiplied. What can Santhe Corporation provide you?”

The glasses slipped back on, and his shoulders slouched back down. With that ring back on, the Force dissapeared from his senses and the monstrous being that had been in the room for but a moment put it's fangs up. His muscles seemed to almost deflate, and he looked like the lanky man who had loped in the room but a few moments ago. In fact, that there was nothing left to even tie him to the scene. All the evidence of his little outburst was gone, and if anyone tried to find anything, they would merely find some ruined audio and visual equipment. Taking a moment to let his scenes reaclimate to everything around him, a long sigh escaped his nostrils as his eyes stayed closed for a moment. Darkness seemed to seep back into him, and the room itself brightened back to it's usual splendor as he hid the truth of himself.

Blue eyes opened back up, and that affable smile crossed his handsome face.

"I need your best minds, to begin working to build this." Cade slid a data chip across the table, with the specifications of the satellites he would need. All the survellaince equipment specifications as well as hard points for the Hyperion Cannons were already designed. Their solar panels were still a work in progress, but Mr.Lee had hoped to leave that in the more capable hands of Santhe Engineers. "I"ll gladly forward whatever you need as a start up, but I need working prototypes within forty five days from now so that I can begin orbital testing. The cannons themselves should be fully operational once I get more Mirkanite from Mustafar sent to my facilities." Another screen opened, this time it was one of Blas-Tech's bank accounts.

"How much do you need?"

I studied the specifications for a while, calculating how much it would cost and what the profit margins would be depending on the price I’d set. Then I considered the fact that Rave had sent this guy, meaning that driving up the prices needlessly.. was bad taste.

Say one thing about Jared Ovmar, say he knows when to haggle like a fishwife and when to settle for less. It’s a thing about image, you see.

So I typed up a few numbers, and pushed it back over to Lee.
It was a fair price + 15%.

I didn’t hide that fact, but the timetable he was asking for was pretty tight. So it seemed only fair.

Cade waited patiently while Jared sifted through the notes and data he had been given. Calculations were being made, and at this point price really wasn't a concern. Profit margins on this next project were over 100%, so a price hike at this stage wasn't an issue. It had been Cade's own rush to see the project done in a hurry that had led him to this plight, so he was already mentally preparing himself for the worst. Hopefully our mutual friend will allow this to not be so bad, hope wasn't something he usually afforded himself. It was one of those luxuries people without common sense afforded themselves, and he didn't have time for it during the middle of a high-stakes business deal. So his jaw muscles simply relaxed and flexed refexively while awaiting the results, then the paper was pushed forward.

It was only plus 15% of what he was guessing, phew not bad.

"It seems I have no choice but to agree. My accountants will send the funds, and I'm going to hold your company to a firm timetable." Cade rose and started heading towards the door. "This won't be the last time we do business, and our mutual friend has requested us on Malachor V. So I"ll see you there later Mr. Ovmar."
