Discussion I Have an Idea For Crime Storie

After a conversation in the discord server of the new Hutt Cartel faction I’ve had an idea that I wanted to float past the board.

The Black Market War
This will be an overarching storyline that pits criminal groups against each other as they battle for control of territory and influence in the underworld.

How it Works:
Anybody can make a criminal minor faction and start recruiting members. We then have one minor faction “home page” that we all join. Likewise every minor faction has a discord and we have one overall criminal discord for all to join.

IC we have a council with leaders from each group represented. The groups agree that all the crime groups must work together to work against any non criminal threats (the space wizards etc). Beyond that these criminal factions are at war and are determined to take each other down. We battle it out with heists, battles, corporate takeovers , drive bys, etc until one criminal group is left and declared the supreme underworld champion.

This is a big undertaking and there may not be interest. I just thought it might give an overall story to the criminal element of our board and thus we might see them last a bit longer. We could make our own map if we want since minors don’t play on the board map or we could just keep pushing each other to be a better class of scum and villainy. It gives people the chance to build their own minors and run them how they want but it also gives us an overall story to link us together.

We already have The Haxion Brood and the Hurt Cartel so I don’t know if they are interested in this. I would be happy to try something with Black Sun as well.

Thoughts?

What's a crime syndicate story without some vying for turf?

I like the idea that a grand underworld story involving any willing criminal factions could help with longevity for each of the crime factions and consolidate the scattered underworld characters for a more lively landscape. Like an underworld microcosm of the overarching galactic wars

The engagement for criminals could also feed into additional writing opportunities for bounties/bounty hunters, rebel outlaws, and law enforcement characters - potentially even for Major Factions to hire criminal factions as auxillaries or opponents or smuggling through blockades.

I feel like a lot of potential is there with stories ripe to be told.
