I Drink And I Know Things

Coruscant, the former seat of the One Sith Empire was still trying to bounce back from the destruction of all the chaos the planet had faced. Though, in the dark reaches of the plant wide city, there were places the One Sith never touched. One of these places being a small diner called The Parsec.

The Parsec was cleverly named after a running joke following the late Han Solo who claimed to have the fastest ship. He was famous for saying his ship could do the castle run in 12 Parsecs. Problem being a Parsec was a measure of distance, not speed.

This diner had been around for a long long time so it no longer looked new and fresh, but the secret was on the inside. It served some of the best food in the Galaxy. So Roberts waited here for his guest. A curious girl he saw when he met Miss. Blonde, but something about her struck an interest so he had given her a note to meet him at the Parsec with the location's address.

Here he waited, on the girl and his food. Unlike the first time they met, a few hours ago, he was no longer wearing his mask, but it did lay on the table.

A bundle of cybernetic joy
Nyssa stared at the letter in her hand for about the thirtieth time in the last ten minutes, unsure as to whether the place in front of her was the right one. It was some sort of establishment, it seemed, where people could get drinks and other refreshments. It seemed like a viable place for a meeting, she thought. When Nyssa had been dumped back on Coruscant, she had found this letter in her pocket, instantly curious as to what it could all mean. It had come from the masked man no doubt, and he seemed to take as much interest in her as the blonde had earlier. Taking a breath, she waked in steadily, looking around for her host. It didn't take her long to recognize the mask on a nearby table, and she sat herself down at it. What she had also realized was that, with all the encounters she had in the last day, she was starting to form her own way of working with things. It was subtle now, but already she seemed a tad bit more confident, like she was learning the world around her more and more. So when she offered a friendly smile at the man, her cocked eyebrow asked the most obvious question: 'What do you want?'

Roberts sat there, his elbows propped on the table, his hands together with his mouth covered by his folded hands. His eyes peered at his guest as he studied at her. Staring at her for an unusually long time he moved his hands down and clicked his tongue, "Ah, welcome, make yourself comfortable and order anything you like. I suggest the Nerf Steak with the Protato wedges. Best nerf steak I have had so far." The waitress, yes waitress not droid, came to their table bringing two cups and a large mug filled with vine-coffee. It was a rare coffee to find and they only served it to special customers. Roberts wasn't feared or known in the core worlds, but he had been a regular for years so they treated him to the finer coffee. Roberts poured himself some and the waitress turned to the new girl asking if she was ready or needed more time.

As that took place, Roberts reached into his coat and drew out a flask with rum in it that he added to his coffee. Some would say he added a bit too much and that he was just a drunk. Though his crew knew he was at his finest drunk, a functional drunk if you will.

Regarding the pirate's words carefully, Nyssa grabbed the small menu over to her left and opened it, peering at the choices. Sure enough, the nerf steak was a recommended item on the list. Since she had never had nerf, let alone know what it was, she decided to try it. Ordering it and a glass of water, she folded her hands together delicately and looked at the drunk, though she didn't know he was one. "So... the note.", she stated simply at first, not sure exactly what to say about it. It had only given sparse details, saying the man was a pirate, and that he was interested in her joining his crew. The idea was somewhat fascinating, as it would certainly get her out into the galaxy, just like she wanted. The question was, why was he interested? "What makes you want me to join your crew so badly?", she asked, voicing her thoughts. "I can be a quick learner, but I'll admit I know very little. I..." She wrung her hands together for a moment, suddenly embarrassed. "I don't have like, any experience with anything. I don't remember anything before yesterday morning."

The Waitress nodded and took the menus from the two before leaving to place the orders. Roberts merely smile, "Aye, a note." He took a sip of his coffee and smiled at the delicious blend of coffee and rum. He set it down as she present him with questions then dropped into what he could only describe as word vomit. As she finished he just slightly pointed at her, "That, that is why." He let that be his answer and let it hang in the air. It would ether make her think or try her a bit crazy in what he meant.

After too much time had passed he continued, "I know what you are, you probably know what you are. What you are lass, is a free slate. You have no impressions of this world, no preconceived idea, you are clay waiting to be molded. A crime lord like Miss. Blonde would want to mold you into a killing machiene or the perfect servant, me? I want to give you something most droids never have, freedom." Before he could continue, their food had arrived and Roberts was distracted by the smell of his amazing food. He grabbed a knife and fork and began making work on his steak and wedges. He did wonder though what kid of droid could eat food, she was very curious indeed.
