Strength:
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Armament: The Hyperion’s cannon (Railgun) is chosen to better handle the punch that it was designed to provide. With the Limited ammo capacity (In comparison to other artillery) it must strike with enough force to do damage equal to its faults with long term engagements. As such the weapon fires projectiles using a railgun that speeds the projectile up to 2 kms per second before the round finds a desired impact point between seven and forty kilometers. This weapon can deliver a variety of rounds but is unable to fire specialty large rounds and only able to fire standard rounds because of it not having a crew to arm it for such.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Smart Gun: Being that the Gun is a droid itself, being completely automated and without a crew, it can more quickly calculate the needed range, elevation, speed, and so on to ensure the hitting of the target. This provides the gun with much needed greater accuracy because of its limited magazine capacity. This accuracy allows for the Hyperion to lay down rounds on the enemy with more effect than other guns might.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Mobility: Like the Jericho Tank Droid, the Hyperion is designed to be able to operate in situations where mobility is needed as well as a droid based weapon. This allows it to operate in conditions such as asteroids, high radiation locations, and otherwise inhospitable areas here organics would find themselves without the proper ability to operate. Weakness:
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Vulnerable points: Like the Jericho, the Hyperion suffers from vulnerable points in its legs an exposed firing mechanism. While the former are easier to hit than the latter, both would easily cripple the weapon and force it into situations where its use is no longer effective and becoming a simple walking piece of metal (or crawling if the legs are hit.)[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]Limited Magazine: Because of the fact that this weapon is completely automated, its ammunition count is not replenishable in a moments notice by a crew and a resupply location. It would require a long resupply process in order to make sure the weapon works effectively. This means that the weapon cannot sustain itself in long term engagements. It is meant to get in there, soften up the target or destroy it, then wait for the main force to be able to take the location. While not a cheap throw away gun, the weapon is forced to have limited long term combat ability.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=14.6667px]No Anti Air Capabilities: Like the Jericho, this weapon is not designed to be able to fire at air based enemies, unlike the Jericho though this is due to the nature of its gun’s speed rather than its location. The weapon is meant as an artillery piece, and is nowhere near fast enough to track, fire, and reasonably hit even a gunship that is hovering without the gunship having plenty of time to get out of the way. (Assuming its not stupid and sits in front of the cannon…)[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]The Hyperion Automated Artillery droid was created for the singular purpose of a mobile piece of Artillery designed for short term combat while dealing out a great deal of damage at the same time. This means that it has a limited time armament that cannot be replaced during battle and largely leave itself to become useless if left alone after. It was also for this reason, a blaster cannon and two lighter ones were attached to provide absolute minimal protection against enemy personnel but not against any vehicle (Minus speeders)[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]One of the most unique things about this weapon is that it is a droid rather than a crewed vehicle, creating a completely autonomous piece of Artillery that can operate without the need of a crew and even more importantly without the need for organic commanders, allowing it to operate in high radiation and temperature extremes, as long as those extremes would not damage the droid itself (like lava…). This was done to create a mobile, independent and versatile weapon of war that could operate on its own. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]It contains a similar weakness to the Jericho droids, having large vulnerable points that could cripple it those points are destroyed. This will normally create a situation in which the vehicle could be sent in, crippled, and useless without firing a single shot. Wasting itself and its ammunition. This makes anti air strikes on the artillery the safest way to deal with them and as they cannot fight off any air based craft unless the pilot sits itself right in the way of the cannon like a moron.
