Hunting Tuk'ata

South Korriban
The yellow and black freighter christened The Gnasp appeared in the upper atmosphere of Korriban, over a massive stretch of nothing but desert wastland. Bobawwa stood in the center of the ship, preparing the Chiru rifle that Beast Hunter's Guild had loaned them, as well as the other equipment they'd have to use, while Frederic Juusk drove the ship. They'd sent other hunters after this contract almost a galactic standard month ago, with no word heard back from them. For all they knew, the Tuk'atas ate them. So Bobawwa and Frederic Juusk were sent to capture the beasts; four young Tuk'ata. The large wookiee grunted under his breath as he looked over the equipment he'd laid out, all loaded and cleaned; his bowcaster with a few dozen quarrels, the Chiru rifle with a dozen darts, and Frederic Juusk's "prized rifle that could hit a womp rat at one thousand meters". Which, was really, just an old blaster rifle that could barely work. But Bobawwa cleaned it nontheless, and lined it up with the other weapons. Everything would have to be in top condition if they were going to get out of this without getting eaten.

(Sorry Matsu, had to get this done.)

Bobawwa walked towards the bridge of the small freighter, pushing aside the large metal door to step into the area. Frederic Juusk was sitting at the controls, as per usual, while the scanners beeped and whirred, searching for signs of any tombs... The lagre Wookiee stepped behind Frederic, groaning in Shiirywook that the equipment was ready. Which caused Frederic to nearly jump out of his skin.

"I told you not to sneak up on me like that!" The human cyborg jerked the controls aside, to steady the course that was interupted when he nearly fell off his chair. Bobawwa chuckled under his breath and walked to one of the small chairs that stood at the edges of the bridge, cramming his huge frame into it. After a few more minutes of randomly flying over the deserts of Korriban; Bobawwa spoke in Shiirywook, asking where on Kashyyk they were going. "Where do you think?" Frederic sighed, and spoke under his breath, despite the fact that Bobawwa's excellent hearing could pick up everything he was saying. "Stupid wookiee...." Bobawwa growled deep in his throat, but listened as Frederic spoke up again. "We're searching for a tomb, that's where these things like to hide out, isin't it? The scanner will beep when we find on--" And it did.

The Gnasp had flown over a small sandstone building that rose slightly out of the sand, with a huge mass of sandstone on it's roof that most likely was once a statue. "Found one! Aren't I a genius, finding one so fast?" Frederic smiled while Bobawwa groaned, and stood to his feet, awaiting their 'strategy'. Juusk was quick to comply. "Right, so, I'm going to land The Gnasp and drop you off, then put it on autpilot... You're going to draw the things out of the Tomb, if there are any in their, while I shoot them from the rampway. Understand? Good wookiee." Before Bobawwa could protest, Frederic started patting the wookiee on the head like a dog. Bobawwa growled under his breath, and moved over to he center of the ship to get to his bowaster. One day, he thought, one day he'd get away from this human...

The ramp burst open after The Gnasp had landed, allowing a combination of quick arid winds and extremely hot sun to assault Bobawwa at once. The Wookiee frowned and stepped out of the frieghter, holding his bowcaster alert and ready to fire. He'd heard stories about this place, this planet; as dangerous as the Shadowlands, they called it. The Wookiee frowned, slowly stepping over to the squat sandstone building that protruded from underground, while Juusk drove his freighter back into the air as soon as possible.

Bobawwa stared into the darkness that stood behind the enterance to the tomb, sandstone steps that led underground into the shadows that blocked out any chance of seeing what was inside. He sure as hell wans't going to go in there... A powerful force user once said, that if you look into the abyss it will look back at you. As the Wookiee stared into the darkness, red eyes appeared in the shadows, watching him. He was lucky, in a way. They'd found Tuk'atas. What were the chances of that? However, his luck quickly ran out when the largest one pounced.

Long sharp teeth flashed at his throat as he was pinned, but the Wookiee was able to kick the creature off. Even a TUk'ata's strength was second to a Wookiee. The beast snarled angrily, but didn't pounce again, rather it slowly begaan to circle the Wookiee as he abruptly stood. Another pair of eyes, his mate he assumed, watched from the shadows of the tomb, deciding wether or not to join. Bobawwa growled back to the Tuk'ata is it slowly circled him, and the Wookiee raised his bowcaster, taking aim on the Tuk'ata. Then it moved. In a blur of motion, the Tuk'ata ran behind the Wookiee, and dug it's jaws int o the Wookiee's thigh, attempting to pull him down. It worked. The Wookiee roared in pain as he felll to teh ground, hiw bowcaster dropping from his paws.

The snarling male Tuk'ata barked in triumph as the Wookiee fell, signaling for his mate to come out. The female Tuk'ata barked in the direction of the cave, before stepping out... followed by six pups. That's why the other one was hiding, Bobawwa thought, while the amle Tuk'ata stood over him, ensuring he didn't move. She's a mother. The male Tuk'ata stepped forwards to finish the kill, as the distinctive 'pew', and the Tuk'ata father fell. The mother glanced into the air, out of Bobawwa's sight, only for another 'pew' to ring out, and a green light to slam into the mother's chest. She fell as well. "Saved your life for the fourty-fifth time, Bob!"

Bobawwa growled. Second time. It was only the second time. The Wookiee slowly pushed himself to his feet, groaning in pain as he put weight on his injured leg. The mother was dead, probably killed instantly. The father was severaly wounded, with a blaster wound in his side. He was trying to get up, but failing. Not a threat. The Wookiee slowly turned, and stared at the six cubs who were flocking around the dead mother, nudging her and yipping. Poor things, Bobawwa thought. The Gnasp landed nearby while Bobawwa stared sadly at the six pups. Why did they have to orphan them? It wasn't their fault someone had placed an order- practically put a bounty on them... The Wookiee was snapped out of his thoughts by Juusk. "Capture the damn things already!"

Bobawwa frowned, and glanced at Frederic, groaning as he had to put weight on his leg. With the rancor there had been violence, even if it was young, it ran at them, tried to kill them. It was self defence to bring it down. This was.... sad. But he had to do as he was told. He owed Frederic his life, sadly. Though often he wished he would've left him for the Wyyyshokk... Frederic pushed a large cage across the sand, keeping a safe distance from the young pups. "Well go on! Put the mutts in the cage!"

The Wookiee limped over to the knot of pups, still trying to wake their dead mother. Frederic was to lazy to do it himself. He let his injured 'friend' do it. To cruel to leave the pups alone. He killed their parents. Bobawwa grimanced as he pulled the wire cage over towards the pups. They barely payed any attention to him. As he got closer, most of the pups began to step back, staring at the huge Wookiee frightened. One, however, stepped forwards, and started barking ferociously. The Wookiee sighed, pausing as he saw the scared pups. "Hurry up already, I don't have all day! I don't want a fething monster showing up!" The Wookiee grimanced, and stepped forwards to the scared pups, only for the earlier mentioned barking one to leap at him. The Wookiee scooped up the tiny Tuk'ata pup- though it tried to bite him several times- and placed it in the cage. Then he slowly turned to the five frightened cubs, who still stayed close to their mother, thinking she could defend them. Poor animals.

Bobawwa slowly loaded the puppies into the large wire cage, grumbling and swearing in Shiirywook under his breath as he went. Contrary to his heritage, Bobawwa hated this; the hunting and killing. The only reason he did, was because he had to. He was under a life debt. If he had his way he'd be far far away, doing just about anything but this. But nontheless, he had to. Soon, the five terrified pups were loaded into the wire cage.

"About time! Now get the cage in the ship, let's get out of here..."

Bobawwa growled uner his breath, and started pushing the wheeled cage towards the ramp of the ship. One day, he thought, One day this will be over.
