PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Heavy Assault Armor
  • Weight: 20kg
  • Resistances:
    Blasters: Very High
  • Kinetic: High
  • Lightsabers: Low
  • Ion/EMP: Low
  • Elemental: Low

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Advanced Tactical Heads-Up-Display
  • HD Audio-Visual Recorder
  • Vacuum Sealing
  • Air Filtration
  • Segregated Comlink
  • Encryption module
  • Military Mobility Shield
  • Helmet electronics and HUD are protected by a miniaturized ionization buffer. This provides only token protection from EMP/Ion attacks. A direct hit with a heavy Ion blaster will almost certainly short it out regardless.
  • Minor elemental protection is provided by the bodyglove, which is temperature controlled. This is meant to make Syndicate personnel more comfortable operating in arid or frigid environments. It will not offer any meaningful protection if hit with a flamethrower or a CryoBan grenade.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • [Strength] HSAS Assault was designed to take as much punishment as possible from small arms fire and indirect explosions. Thick duraplast plating, plus a personal shield generator, make it very successful in this manner.
  • [Weakness] Weight is a considerable obstacle in utilizing HSAS Assault. The armor is incredibly cumbersome and many Shock Troopers require specialized training before being able to move in it effectively.
  • [Weakness] The personal shield equipped to the armor is vulnerable to Ion weapons and, like the helmet, can be disabled by them quite easily.
DESCRIPTION

HSAS Assault is heavy armor built to turn whoever wears it into a well-defended, one man juggernaut on the battlefield. Against small arms fire, anyway. Certain Syndicate personnel are more frequently put into more dangerous battlefield situations than others. The Assault variant of the Helix Syndicate Armor System was made for those individuals. After all, if they’re willing to risk their hides for their next paycheck, they might as well get a personal energy shield while they’re on the clock.

Assault consists of three layers: quantum fiber bodyglove, duraplast plating, and the personal energy shield The bodyglove is temperature controlled to keep wearers comfortable in hot and cold environments. Unlike Tactical, Quantum fiber is not simply interwoven into Assault - it is completely made out of quantum fiber. This provides substantially greater protection against energy-based weapons, often dissipating some medium blaster bolts so they result in incapacitation rather than death. On top of the bodyglove goes the armor plating itself, covering the arms, legs, and chest.

All of the plated armor components are made entirely out of reinforced duraplast. As you could imagine, this provides a great deal of protection against energy based weapons, kinetic weapons, and blunt force trauma. A consequence of the reinforcement is that the armor is incredibly cumbersome.

Finally, a Military Mobility Shield provides the final layer, allowing those equipped with the HSAS Assault armor to absorb a large amount of blaster bolts before their armor is even touched. Of course, this only provides protection against energy-based weapons. Anything else would pass through without much resistance.

Aside from all that, the armor includes many other features which are considered staples of modern infantry armor. A suitably advanced heads up display features an assortment of vision settings and general sensors. Helmet comlinks are kept segregated to prevent remote tampering and also feature an encryption module to prevent easy eavesdropping. The helmet and bodyglove are, of course, capable of vacuum sealing in order to protect the user against deadly toxins and other environmental hazards. The armor features a large enough reserve supply of oxygen to last the user approximately an hour and thirty minutes. Air filtration is another feature included in the helmet.

HSAS Assault was designed by the Helix Syndicate, who then licensed out production to Myton Defense. It is most commonly found worn by certain Helix Syndicate Shock. Other Helix Syndicate mercenaries are occasionally given the armor to use as they see fit.
