Intent: Star Wars appropriate "Heelys" for young Player Characters, Non-Player Characters, and [member="Matsu Ike"]'s many, many illegitimate children.

Development Thread: If required.

Manufacturer: Howlingfjord (Design) & Wey'lan Dyu'tani (Production)

Model: Howlys

Affiliation: Open Market

Modularity: No

Production: Mass-Produced

Material: Uruun Cloth (upper), Elastex (insole), Rubber (sole), Miniature Repulsor

Classification: Other (Youngling Clothing)

Weight: 1.5 kg

Quality: 1 (upper/cloth) / 2 (sole)

Special Features:
Miniaturized repulsor allows wearer to simulate repulsor skiing anywhere!

Strengths:
Repulsor Heelys. Can provide lift up to a quarter meter (.25m) off the ground for a humanoid weighing up to 50 kilograms.
Water Resistant. So jumping into a rain puddle won't void the warranty.
Fast and the Furious: Heely Drift. The directional thrust from the miniaturized repulsor can propel the wearer forward in a slow drift. The wearer can use the toe of one foot to then 'skate' by pushing off the ground to add further momentum.

Weaknesses:
Safety Hazard. If you haven't visited the ER with your kid yet, you probably soon will.
Practice Makes Perfect. Requires training to properly use.
Weight Restriction. Maximum 50 kg. If you want your buddy to ride, hope he's a Kushiban.
Clothing, Not Armor. These will not withstand the Imperial Inquisition (which no one suspects).
Yuuzhan Vong Materials. People with allergies or adverse reactions to biots or biot-based materials may suffer a reaction.
Water Resistant, Not Swamp Proof. Water is fine, up to 60 meters. Thick mud and other viscous substances, however, will interfere with the repulsors operation.

Description: Introduced to the concept of humanoid clothing and fashion, which he likens to fur that is interchangeable, the Beorni artist set out to make something that would be both fun and fashionable. Paired with Yuuzhan Vong craftsmen from Wey'lan Dyu'tani, the young Beorni quickly drew up a radical idea: Floating shoes that were a work of art. For this project, the Beorni was provided with uruun cloth - a Yuuzhan Vong textile - upon which he created an artful depiction of Valkyri on Midvinter staring up at a star-filled sky. That design then went over to Wey'lan Dyu'tani's clothing division to devise how to put this 'repulsor shoe' into production. The miniaturized repulsor was placed toward the rear of the heel and recessed to be flush with the bottom of the shoe. The mini repulsor provides enough lift for a wearer weighing up to 50 kg, allowing the shoe to provide its intended function for an average sized, near-human youngling. Extremely large younglings, and those with non-humanoid limb shapes (such as Beorni) are unable to use Howlys, making it so that -- just like the rest of the clothing and other articles he designs -- the artist is unable to use any of what he creates.
