House Sabrathan, formerly known as House Sabrathan of Coruscant, is a Noble House, which at one time held various titles, lands and considerable wealth from their position in the Deep Core and Core Worlds. Over countless millennia, House Sabrathan proved itself to be adaptable and opportunistic, while their morals often came second to business. While largely concerned with business, the House has also shown its hand in diplomacy; often strengthening their ties with unconventional allies when it suits their needs, and while profit is a priority, they traditionally practice that a good reputation is much more valuable.
While many of the former cadet branches had ties with various Core Worlds, the main House Sabrathan branch had its own ties to Tython, the ancestral home of the Jedi Order. From this, many of the members of the family were known to have a deep connection with the force, though they never served as members of the Jedi Order, preferring their freedom to that of the rigid structure of the order. While today the family is known also for their rage, this would not develop until much later during the era of the Jedi and Sith civil wars when more members of the family welcomed the Dark Side.
Through out its history, House Sabrathan has shown itself as being distant from many other Noble Houses. Due to their deep connection with the force, and a desire to ensure the survival of this trait, the House developed a mantra of selectively breeding so that their heirs were force sensitive. Thus has evolved their unorthodox and more distinguishing characteristic of desiring to live in harmony with other species.

HOUSE HIERARCHY

House Sabrathan has proven itself more progressive than many, even during the earlier eras of the Galactic Republic. It has never been focally dominated by males or females of the family; nor has a favor of one gender over the other been witnessed. Heirs are not chosen due to a family member being the strongest, the most intelligent or because of their guile. They are chosen from those that are capable of making the hard decisions that no one else would be willing to live with. In more recent years the leadership of the family had fallen into a successive series of lackluster and pitiful heirs that have cause the house to fall further; and whose history serves as a warning to future heirs against such behavior.
In terms of established leadership, the House is reigned by a family member whom is crowned as the Patriarch or Matriarch (depending on gender of the individual) or as Viceroy (for those identified as asexual or non-gender conformers). They are expected by the other members of the House to make decisions that others would be nervous or otherwise ill-suited to make. Their words and actions shape the direction and history of the House.
Internally there exists a more rigid structure, which the family also adheres. Second in power is often the Heir Apparent, with those family members titled Lieutenants being the lowest rung of leadership. Beyond this there is the general respect and ideological thinking of each member's actions being that which would best serve the House. There does exist a position of honor, that being the Genealogist, whose sole duty is the tracking, pairing and recording of all marriages, couplings, and births; while also examining the potential partners of House members.

ARMED PERSONNEL

House Sabrathan maintains a limited number of armed personnel on the premises of their Estate on Durbillion. These armed personnel are Retainers, specifically hired, trained and equipped by the House to maintain the security of the premises and maintain order in the surrounding grounds of the Estate as a whole. These armed forces are completely and wholly separate from any armed forces, security or law enforcement entities that are already established on Dubrillion, as their own authority is limited to the premises and surrounding grounds of the Estate.
Likewise for those instances in which a member of the House is traveling, they can rely upon the retainers, though it is more likely that they will elicit to maintain a proportional retinue of "Hirelings". Persons or beings that are hired for the specific purpose of a House member's personal safety or otherwise to act upon the orders or offered business or contracts put forth by House Sabrathan.

BRIEF HISTORY

House Sabrathan had ties with the Deep Core world Tython, where their historical record shows the founding of the House, or rather the first of the named Sabrathans. Others have disputed that the family began on Coruscant, and later a cadet branch was established on Tython. Even in the early days of space travel, members of the House proved themselves to be diplomatic and business savvy, though it was said their morals often lacked in comparison to these skills. From their homes on Tython and Coruscant, the House grew and established minor cadet branches on various other Deep Core worlds and in the Core Worlds region of the Galaxy.
Around these early years, the selective breeding was also developed to ensure the continued trait of the family's naturally deep connection to the force. While few had political ambitions, the House was at one point prestigious and wealthy enough to have its own representative in the early years of the Galactic Senate, with other House members serving as Diplomats, Ambassadors and Senators in their own right for both their homeworlds and those worlds that they maintained ties with. While many of the members were connected to the force, few if any ever joined the Jedi Order, as the House had a strong stance and preferred their freedom. Few House members even held the belief that the Order had no right to be an entity within the Republic and feared the possibility of the Jedi Order guiding the Republic rather than the citizens.
Roughly by the time of the Sith and Jedi Civil Wars that broke out in the vicinity of 3,900-3,600 BBY, House Sabrathan had established over a dozen cadet branches including the main house. Years of disinterest with the Galaxy, and lax attitudes however, mixed with a growing air of arrogance would lead to the downfall of the House within the span of three hundred years. What would become known as the "Sundering of Twelve Houses" marked the apex of House Sabrathan's fall. Many of their titles, lands and wealth in the Deep Core and Core Worlds were seized by the Republic and rival houses. Those family members that fought were killed, and entire cadet branches were wiped out in a single night. Few survivors remained, and much of House Sabrathan was thought destroyed.
Over the next couple of millennia, the House managed to live on through the actions of a little known and barely established Cadet branch that managed to survive the Sundering and escape. Relocating to the Dubrillion System in the Outer Rim Territories, the House limped forward, slowly losing wealth and what little prestige it had left.
In more recent years the title of Matriarch and leadership of the family has fallen upon the brow of a more ambitious member of the Family. A historian that remembers the ancient past, she has decided and made it her duty to reestablish the family and rise House Sabrathan out of the dirt.

House Sabrathan is the evolution of the original idea of the Sabrathan Family. Focused more on the history with additional information and expansion that was not provided in the original missive. While additional information has been added, much of the original goals for the House remain unchanged. It is a House that is all but forgotten, slowly limping since its relocation unto Dubrillion, with little wealth to speak of beyond the taxes and revenue it generates from the surrounding lands of the House Sabrathan Estate.
The aforementioned goals still focus upon the future of the House, and that of its family members. Matriarch Thea Sabrathan is focused on regaining the wealth that the family lost; focusing not at the time on reliable and low paying legal trade, though more on the higher revenue generating illegal trade as a first stepping stone to greater things. These goals also focus on the recovery of artifacts and other ancient repositories of knowledge and power that the former Sith Empire and its predecessors may have forgotten or left behind, or otherwise untouched or undiscovered by other archaeologist or explorers in the Outer Rim Territories.
Membership or rather the creation of a member of House Sabrathan remains in the boundaries of the writer. Sensible characters would be those whom have a general human or near-human genealogy or those species whom are capable of breeding with the human or a near-human species. However that is not to say that there would be an exception made to the rule for such instances as adopted members of the family or those of a species hired and held as retainers of House Sabrathan.
