Mid Rim.
Chommell sector.
Naboo system, Naboo.

Rumors had circulated around the House of Naboo that an ancient name had been claimed. That House Palpatine had a surviving member was a shock was an understatement. It was long thought that the House had died it many years ago. But Corvinus Palpatine lived, he was the last of his name and he was returning to Naboo to secure the future of the Empire in Exile and it's Imperial Remnant. Accompanying him was Alicia Drey, a business entrepreneur from Chandrila that showed great promise. Potential was necessary if one was to bring back the Galactic Empire. So too were the small necessities, which was the objective of Alicia and Corvinus's arrival in the Naboo system.

The Nune-class transport emerged from hyperspace, with Alicia at it's helm. She disengaged the hyperdrive and brought up a transmission with the local authorities. "This is Alicia Drey, envoy to the Imperial Remnant, accompanied by Corvinus Palpatine, last of his name and head of House Palpatine. We seek permission to make our way planet side." When permission was given, Alicia flew the shuttle down towards Theed, capital of Naboo.

Dark memories haunted this place. Naboo was the origin of his house, but it had been four hundred years since he last seen it; and perhaps it was still not long enough. Corvinus's house been feared and outcast by most of Naboo after Sidious had proclaimed himself the Emperor of the First Galactic Empire. People failed to see the good he had tried to accomplish. Instead they opted to hate everything he was and everyone who was even closely related to him. Perhaps it was not all their fault though, Sidious had been foolish in his rule. Fear had been his only tool to maintain power.

But fear was not an effective weapon for long. If fear was left unchecked, it would breed rebellion by nature. If you trap an dog in a cage and beat him everyday; of course he will eventually bite you back. It was instinct. Nature. You needed more than fear. People need to believe in your cause, hope that everything you do will led them to a better future. They need to be loyal to your every action, but not because of the fear that your mighty stick brings. No, they needed to be loyal because they believe in you. Worship you.

What they should fear is not your stick. What they should fear is the very thought of your stick no longer being there.

Sidious didn't understand this. All Sidious understood was the dogmatic, narrow view of the Sith. Power was not end. It was the means to the end. That is why Corvinus didn't devout himself to the Jedi nor the Sith; their teachings were weak. Those who lived by mystical fairytales about the force were cursed to forever repeat the failings of their predecessors. But Corvinus would not fail.

That was why he was here now with Alica Drey. They were here to secure something for the Empire. Naboo had a power source that was critical to the coming New Order and he suspected that they would be more than willing to bend their knee. That, at least, was the primary reason they were here. In truth, Corvinus was more interested in rediscovering his house. He was the last living member of House Palpatine and he was eager to know what had become of his long lost cousins and nephews he'd never gotten the chance to know. They were all killed more than likely.

He was interested nonetheless and it appeared that this Alicia girl was as well. Corvinus did not know what to make of her, but there was something about her that he had grown quite fond of. He couldn't place a finger on it per se, but it was there.

"Alica, do try to be polite. We Naboo are quite fond of our traditions and I certainly don't want them to think the last of the Noble Palpatine House keeps company with a hooligan" He joked through a dry smile

"Hooligan? I'm offended." Alicia returned a wry grin. She wasn't sure what to make of Corvinus either. It was slightly awkward, but that was to expected when two people had just met. Especially when one was several decades her senior. Setting her focus back on the control of the transport, Alicia was redirected to Theed.

The scenery of Naboo's capital entered the viewing screen as Alicia flew the transport down towards the planet's surface. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Customs contacted the Nune-class shuttle, directing Alicia to the coordinates of the spaceport that they would be docking in.

The future of the Imperial Remnant; securing the deposits of Plasma on Naboo; and the creation of a subsidiary to Imperial Arms Incorporated that oversaw the mining of those deposits were not the only reasons why Alicia Drey had accompanied Corvinus Palpatine. To discover that the same ancient house- the very same that held the individual that brought to fruition a scheme that her secretive order began before it's fall- was so rare that it had to be explored. To have a name like Palpatine as an ally was just as important and possibly more lucrative than any deposits of plasma on Naboo itself.

Alicia intended to befriend the old man. She would need allies in the Imperial Remnant, as well as to other things. To think that another Palpatine, all these centuries later would pay apart in the next scheme of her order was describable. Landing the shuttle in it's port, Alicia cooled the engines after the landing ramps touched down. Unstrapping herself from her pilot seat, she turned to face Corvinus. "Time for business."
