House Larraq Plate and Blade

House Larraq Plate and Blade is a family owned and operated workshop located on the Larraq Homestead in the Kelta Valley on Mandalore. Thanks to their unique exploration of exotic materials and crafting techniques, they have recently become one of the more renowned group of beskar smiths on Mandalore, though the workshop is still fairly obscure to those not from Mandalore itself.

The workshop primarily focuses upon archaic, non-mechanical designs (everyone needs a gimmick) but is fully capable of creating modern and mechanical creations. In recent years, a small number of House Larraq Runi'verd (force sensitives) have begun to explore exotic crafting techniques and the somewhat magical creations that are possible through their gifts.

While much of what is made by the family is used by the family itself, it is not unheard of for House Larraq to offer their goods to outsiders, though they do tend to prefer trade and barter over the raw exchange of currency. To the family, all outsiders are equally distrusted and little consideration is given to wider political issues. If you have something the family values, and you haven't earned a wide-spanning enough reputation for them to have learned to not like you in particular, House Larraq will do business with you.

Currently, House Larraq Plate and Blade is able to offer any of the following products at the bartering table.

Unique Materials:
Specialty Weapons:
Specialty Equipment:

Swords we do. If you're looking for a commission, I'll need to know more about what you're looking for from a weapon.

Do you have any ideas about what you would like to offer as trade for the weapon?
Is this something you would rather handle through an IC thread, or OOC through the marketplace?

While it's not a weapon Mishka would be good with, it's definitely something that "the clan" would approve of trading for on a one-to-one basis. So that's solid.

I like to pack one primary and one or two supporting tricks into the theme of what I make. In terms of "not too gimmicky", is there any existing product in particular that you'd like your blade to be comparable to in terms of overall power of abilities?

Also, I've already found a fun image for your weapon (since you're a darksider).

Ok. Did a lot of digging and had to smack my hands to keep the power level scaled where you wanted it.

Based on your Character Bio, I'm thinking what Ember really needs is a tool that can help him keep up with those young whippersnappers when he gets dragged into combat. I'm thinking an effect like Crucitorn, Control Pain, or Force Body to help Ember ignore all those aches and pains that come with old age, and a whole lot worse as well. We'll toss on a limited ability to augment Ember's self-healing/endurance to keep him fighting for longer periods of time. We could use Revitalize, Revitalization of the Whuffa, Accelerate Healing, or something similar for this effect... And to power this, we can draw energy from the Living Force via Force Generation and maintain a constant low gathering of force energy to power these abilities. Alternatively, we could use Ember's opponents to fuel these abilities and either focus on inflicting damage to keep Ember going (Force in Balance), or soak up the emotional distress of his opponents as a fuel source with Consume Essence.

We can tack on solid structural designs to keep the weapon competitive as a bladed weapon even without these abilities, and simply allow Ember the option of using this sword as a "walking stick" to keep himself fighting when he really can't afford to be old.

Alternatively, if you want a more offensive suite of abilities or a different theme for the weapon, I've got plenty of other ideas. And if this is still a bit more than you want for your character, there are other things I can do that are a bit more scaled back. I just figured I'd offer this one first since it seems like it does a good job of complementing the weaknesses in your bio to a healthy degree.
