Location: Hoth's northern hemisphere.
Affiliation: The First Order
Population: The Naval Yard has a 30’000 strong stormtrooper garrison and 10’000 naval and maintenance personnel. There are always 6’000 stormtroopers and 5’000 naval personnel on duty at all times.

Points of Interest:
Between each pit is asphalt road which act as road for the First Order craft delivering parts as well as troops to the outer perimeter. This is complimented by four dozen turbolaser towers which act as a deterrence to enemy snub fighters and bombers. Towering above it all is the bases headquarters, hidden underneath and inside a massive mountain. This is where troops are kept.
The fortifications here are lighter, as it is only exposed on one side. That being said, there are a turbolaser and blaster emplacements. The base itself is only exposed on one face, which is one that oversees the naval yard. At its higher levels, sits the naval command centre. This is where senior First Order naval officers can command entire fleets and give orders from across the Galaxy.
Below that is the expansive hangar bay, which holds twelve fighter squadrons, whose mission is to respond to threats presented by the enemy. There are a number of smaller heavy blaster emplacements which act to destroy and deter a bombing run on the hangar bay.
Below that is the massive freight doors to the base. Immediately behind those armored doors is an elevator shaft leads directly to the storage warehouse. That part of the base is one of its largest. The collection of parts is curated by a staff of 500 dedicated engineers and personnel who ensure that the spare parts delivered are the best available. They use a series of cargo cranes and massive freight speeders to deliver them to the surface.
Above that is the barracks and rec rooms. The stormtroopers and officers. They aren’t spacious, but due to the fact that they’re well underneath the mountain, they stretch for kilometres on end.
The ion canon is its own base almost. Located outside of the shields reach, it has its own smaller garrison of troops, and a wall. It coordinates its attacks with the main base via comms.
History: After the Omega War, and the advent of increased First Imperial Naval spending, the First Order needed more stations to repair their fleets. Hoth was chosen on the border sector of Anoat in order to fortify and deny the Galactic Alliance and their allies from attacking further First Order territories.
Problems did arise from the initial construction phase of the project due to the extreme temperatures. However a mixture of tauntaun blubber and new wampa fur coats sold by local hunters improved moral and construction progress. The excavation process did see a deposit of iron ore which saw import costs for the base decrease at an immeasurable manner.
Intent: To fortify the First Order’s position in the Anoat Sector, and create a base to maintain and coordinate fleets.
