Horizon PMC exists to provide private military services to organizations and individuals who do not wish to brave the perils of hiring a mercenary group to provide protection or combat services. Mercenaries are often rough individuals with a desire to do more harm than good, cost too much, eat you out of house and home, and generally make whoever hired them look like a scumbag. A PMC provides all of the same services as a mercenary group, but with civility and class. The soldiers and naval personnel of Horizon PMC are top notch, heavily trained individuals who are paid handsomely for putting their lives on the line for whomever has obtained a contract with the company. They operate with decorum and are held to a higher standard usually only obtained by the highly trained military's of major governments.
In addition, the company has a few scientists located in their headquarters on Harrin who do research into biomedical enhancements for soldiers such as remedies for ailments (field first aid), remedies for sleep deprivation, enhanced strength when it is needed, and others in the form of consumable pills, liquids, or apertures for use in the field.
RATIONALE
Ignus Industries is ever looking to expand its influence throughout the galaxy. In light of the rise of certain non-military governments, such as the Order of the Sacred Lotus, and the realization that inevitably someone will seek to do them harm, Leos Palle (Ignus) devised a strategy to expand the potential of the company through the creation of a subsidiary that could provide military protection. Additionally, with his goals of galactic domination for the betterment of the galaxy, having fingers in multiple pies just makes sense. The PMC will also allow him to shelter organizations that he'd like to keep around. Also, considering neither Ignus Industries or Ignus Black do biomedical work, the creation of Horizon PMC allows for expansion into this field.
